I’m the upcoming draft.

I’m going with 100%

He will trade up for a QB bust

He wants JJ McCarthy. Worst kept secret in the NFL.

McCarthy will fail miserably in the pros.

The defense carried that team the entire year.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you said CJ Stroud would be a bust because Ohio St QBs don’t do anything in the pros

Pro scouts and GMs coaches don’t rate QBs on team success like fans and talk show host

No. Stroud actually put up very good numbers at Ohio State.

In McCarthy’s last 5 games at Michigan, he surpassed 200 yards passing once.

Payton is terrible at drafting QBs. If he wants to hitch his wagon to McCarthy, it’ll lead to failure in Denver.

Drew Brees isn’t walking through that door.

I do think it’s odd that the narrative is essentially now Michigan had this top 10 NFL draft QB but chose not to utilize his throwing ability.

Once CSP gets infatuated with a player, there’s no changing his mind and he has missed more times than org could afford

So did Fields and Haskins and by far the consensus opinion on these boards was that Stroud would be a bust like those guys.

At least now you are looking at stats while that’s better than wins it’s not the end all be all. it’s obviously not what the scouts seem to like about him. If you listen to scouts or draft guys that watch tape it’s things like accuracy, does he get the ball where he wants, arm strength not just deep balls but can he get the ball on intermediate passes quickly, how he makes reads and progressions stuff like that does not show up in box scores on team wins only on tape. It’s an inexact science of course, no one can know how a player will react against pro defenses or once he has some life changing money it also depends on coaching and the organization he’s with. Fans like you that make sweeping declarations like he will be a bust are living proof of the Dunning Kruger effect Non of us know who will be good or who will be a bust

you basing this on guys drafted in later rounds? And Payton isn’t the only one who likes McCarthy

Who cares honestly now? We don’t have any draft compensation coming to us.

90 percent of your posts are about Sean Payton. Do you have some weird fetish for him or did he have an affair with your mom/sister?

Posting an offseason thread about Payton drafting a bust qb is odd as hell.

Honestly I would not have drafted Stroud. I liked young but he is just too small. I wouldn’t have touched either one. OSU has a history of producing busts at qb. I think I lot of it has to do with their system. Kudos to Stroud for breaking through.

I thought the same and was damn sure after watching his first couple of games. He just lobbed everything in. No zip. Then I realized later he doesn't miss lobbing it in and is as cool in the pocket as a 15 year vet.
Qbs...

Harbaugh has always wanted to run the ball and control the clock. McCarthy can make every throw if you actually watch him

They had a great o line and corum. They didn't need to go out and throw the ball like crazy.

Really?

This isn’t a Broncos board and Sean Payton hasn’t been associated with this franchise for 2 years. For godsake move on from Payton.
