Coming into the season we were mostly around #22-25 range and after just 2 weeks we’ve jumped half the league roughly 16 spots. Been a pleasant surprise so far. Based on what we’ve seen on the field so far from everyone we honestly should have a case for #1 right now.

There were a lot of smaller pundits I looked up and the average outlet appears to have us between #8-10 going into Week 3.

Yahoo Sports: #3
NFL Spin Zone: #4
PFN: #9
NBC Sports: #12
Sporting News: #14

Dallas dropped to 7 and the Saints are 14 for the NBC one? Lol

Yeah some of the ones I’ve looked up are outrageous. Like looking at AP cfb voters some of them have bizarre rankings and you really just need to take the average to get a true standing. CBS sports doesn’t release their rankings until Tuesday’s but their week 2 power ranking currently has the Saints at #25 and Dallas at #6. Based on that if they’re honest they’re going to have us jump 20 spots in one week.

NBC has two 0-2 teams ahead of the Saints. Cincy and Baltimore.

Just realized that was the Bay Area NBC, not the national NBC sports rankings. most those regional sports writers have major biases. Clearly dudes an idiot.

Good. Less buzz around us. It’s a long season. If this keeps up, that Tampa Bay game is gonna be lit

Absolutely not giving any credit to the Cowboys, but 91 points in two games with 1970’s offenses is pretty impressive.

The rankings are meaningless at this point. Winning games is all that matters. TBH, it's more of a motivation, because the team can play with a chip on its shoulder

Saints are currently +2 against the Eagles. I am seriously contemplating putting money down on the Saints straight up win that game.

The dome will be lit. Philly will get run out of the building

yes they’re meaningless period

It’s just fun to look at to see our small market team getting some positive recognition again. The last time I bothered to look at power rankings weekly was when I was in school over a decade ago now when the saints were considering a top team in the league. Being considered a bottom feeder coming into the year does help a team put that chip on their shoulder that you need to separate yourself from the rest in the nfl though.

This team has a chance to surprise the rest of the season too imo

If they beat the Eagles, they'll be out of excuses to not have us top 10.

That's okay.. Those guys on ESPN talked more about the Cowboys losing than the Saints winning... That's not a problem...

They are meaningless at ANY point. The NFL doesn't have a committee that selectively choose the playoff participants. The only value of the rankings to get a sense of what people across a broad spectrum of the country think about the team.

If you set aside all preseason projection/bias, the Saints would be #1 because no team has been more dominant in two games. Not even close.

I don't care where they rank us as long as we keep stomping asses on the field.

If I were near a sports book I would jump all over that line. Saints defense against Kellen Moore offense should be a fg game for the eagles and I do not think they will put up enough points with fg's alone.
