I'd be more concerned if we had actually attempted to target the endzone in the redzonr

I have nothing against him either, but we simply won that trade. Shame we didn't do it a year earlier where we could have gotten some monster value and saved tons of $.

Graham was perfect for our offense and i really think playing through injuries slowed him down the last 1.5 years.
But a good oline is more important to any offense, especially ones with great QBs
I have more issues with the stills trade followed by ignoring the WR position. We're already super thin there, i cant imagine what would happen if cooks gets banged up

For ya'll complaining about the rushing yards....ya'll act like we went against the front 7 of a Pee Wee team when in all actuality Zona is very stout.

54 yards at 2.7 per rush is embarrassing for a professional football team. I don't care who you are going up against.

It's not ideal by any stretch of the imagination. But it can happen to any NFL team any week; shite Denver ran for 61 yards on 22 carries which by my math is 2.7 yards per carry. The difference is Manning was able to attack KC's defensive secondary. Fact is if our WR's get some separation Brees is able to find them instead of checking it down and we more than likely score at least 1 more TD which would have changed the entire complexity of that game and we aren't even talking about the yards per carry.

Our best offense, 2011, ran for 2.6 ypc and 37 yards against SF despite us being the #6 rushing offense in the NFL and possibly the best offense ever
It can happen...

I may have missed this last Sunday but did we give Hill or Watson a chance to run the same plays that we normally would have run for Graham in the redzone last week? If not, how do we know they wouldn't have scored if they did? Like I said, I may have missed it but I need to see Hill and Watson lined up running the same plays that went to Graham before I say we miss Graham. It's like saying we miss PT Cruiser on the screen without ever attempting a screen.

Graham has always been kind of soft and amiable. He will let an aggressive DB check him and shut him down. In that regard he will not be missed. However, Saints made it in the Red Zone 4 times and scored one touchdown. In a congested area like the red zone a big target comes in handy. Graham scored 10 touch downs last season. Those touch downs will be missed. If you cut 10 touch downs out of anyone's offense, they loose the majority of their games.Drew scored 33 TDs last year and 10 were to Graham. That's almost a third. If you dont think he'll be missed from that aspect, you're fooling yourself.

Only 3 teams scored more than 20 on ARI last year. Let's wait a few weeks to determine that we can't score.
And that was without the Honey Badger for most of the season. He was all over the field making plays last week.
The Saints played a very good defense on the road to begin the season. Let's take a deep breath and relax and wait to see what they do at home against what looks to be a pretty bad Tampa team before making snap judgments.

Semantics my dick
15 yd TD
9 yd TD
11 yd TD
There's 6's and 7's and all kinds of numbers outside of a 2-3 yd goaline situation
51 career TDs w NO
12 TD - from 3 or fewer yards
15 TD - from 4-9 yards
14 TD - from 10-19 yards
7 TD - from 20-29 yards
4 TD - from 30 yards or more
half of his career TDs with us came from outside of 10 yards

Since we only had 1 pass that actually went into the endzone, I would assume we did not have them run similar routes.
I'd also add the 6'6" Coleman to the list of people that will be utilized to fill that JG role in the redzone, eventually.

Yup I was wrong. I'd like to see a further breakdown from the 4-9 range though, as it seemed once we hit about the six or seven we started posting him up.
Still you have almost twice as many from 1-9 as you do from 10-19, so a 2 to 1 ratio there. Also had close to the same amount from 10-19 as you did from 20 out (which I expected quite a few there from seam routes but a few more from there than I expected). Definitely more from 10-19 than I recall.
Where did you find this?

His football reference page. Click touchdown tab. They document each TD along with its distance, quarter etc.

they've played one game
the Rams defense is pretty good
anyone who watched the cards game and didn't think graham would have made th saints offense better was in a coma

Well, as you must know, that's not the only question on the table. Obviously Graham would have made our red zone offense better from a receiving stand point, but to what degree would that have been mitigated by having some half-assed solution at the center position? Doesn't matter who's catching the ball if Drew has no time to throw it.
And of course there's the question of whether or not we have found a great young talent to anchor the linebacker corps for the next ten years.

how about keep graham and draft a center?
fricking patriots are starting an undrafted rookie for chrissakes
What's done is done but crowing after one game that the Seahawks didn't rush their average, a game where graham scored a touchdown, is ridiculous

come on dude, you're smarter than that. How many can't miss guys have we drafted that didn't pan out? We needed a guaranteed solution at the Center position on day one and we got it.
Posted on 9/18/15 at 7:02 pm to Laaz2750
so we give up the best weapon for scoring we have because the front office can't draft a center?
I may not be better than that be you sure as shite should hope our decision makers are
