Les Miles should have been fired at least 4 years ago.
Posted by SilvaSpear on 9/5/16 at 6:37 am
Yeah, that's right I said it and I've been saying. I used to get ripped to shreds out here, by merely suggesting that Les Miles and Cam Cameron should've been fired years ago. This man is absolutely clueless and his players win in spite of him and looses because of him. It's simple, LES MILES CANNOT COACH, HE NEVER COULD. Two players from Wisconsin destroyed an entire team and he never made one adjustment to stop them, 81 on offense and 42 on defense. Wisconsin had a subpar offense, mediocre at best, and the 3-4 does not work with most teams. Don't know some idiot coordinators try to use it. You have to have either 3 helluva tier 1 down lineman or 4 helluva tier 1 linebackers. Beckwith is good and is the only tier 1 linebacker LSU has and his underneath coverage needs some work. Les needs to stop with the BS big cat drills and teach the men how to play football.
re: Time to Trade Brees
Posted by SilvaSpear on 9/21/15 at 9:49 am to bearhc
I don't think the Saints need to trade him. The problem with the Saints deals more with the expectation of Brees. Brees is not the same QB he was 6 years ago. There are things he can no longer do. The play calling has become too predictable, not so much on 1st down, but 2nd down. If they run on 1st down, they will pass on 2nd down, and vice versa. They will pass on 3rd down. It doesn't matter if it's 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 9. The Saints believe Brees is still the best chance for a win. The real problem, is Payton and Brees are addicted to the passing game. No matter what they say, or what they do, the Saints will always rely on the pass. They also need to realize that Robinson is a better back than Ingram. They made too many moves this off season because they said they wanted to get back to running the ball. Rob Ryan's defense is not working. The players can not operate under that defense. He needs to run a 4-3, with 2 DB's, a Safety and a free safety, instead of some hybrid 3-4.
re: Drew Could Achieve Another Milstone Sunday...And This Season *Article*

I agree with how good it has been to have Drew. With Drew as it is in life, all things come to an end. I think the Saints want to get Drew another championship within the next two or three years. The players they picked up, like Browner, Ellerbe, Byrd, Spiller, Hightower, not to mention Benjamin and Colston only have about 2-3 descent years left if that. If a good QB comes up in the Draft this year, I think they are going to go hard after him, as they should. Drew can achieve another milestone, and that is good for Drew, but if he doesn't win, it'll be just another stat. He's is already a hall of fame candidate, first ballot. Another stat does not impress me unless that stat comes with a win.
re: Attack Plan Week 2

Blitz the heck out of Winston. Go with double tight ends and run on 1st and 2nd down. Make them stack the box so Drew can get some isolated coverage on Cook or Colston with the play action. Saints have become predictable with their second down plays. Whatever the Saints do on first down, they will do the opposite on second down and they will almost pass the ball on 3rd down every time. If in the game, the defense start getting abused and cannot stop the Bucs, take some chances on 4th down. Last season, Cleveland did that with the Saints and won. They knew they could exploit a weak defense and not wanting to give us the ball worked. The went for it on fourth down 3 or 4 times in one drive and got it every time. Heck, one time they went for it on their own 28 yrd line. Sometimes you have accept the fact that your defense sucks. If you gamble and get it wrong, they get the ball and score, at least you'll get the ball back quicker as apposed to punting and letting the other team have a long time consuming drive, eating up the clock, and killing the offense ability to score. It sounds crazy but hey, last week the Saints punted with short time left and the Cards scored so fast, it put us back 2 touch downs.
re: We joked about Graham..but he's actually ruining Seattles run game (article)
Posted by SilvaSpear on 9/18/15 at 2:12 pm to Brettesaurus Rex
Graham has always been kind of soft and amiable. He will let an aggressive DB check him and shut him down. In that regard he will not be missed. However, Saints made it in the Red Zone 4 times and scored one touchdown. In a congested area like the red zone a big target comes in handy. Graham scored 10 touch downs last season. Those touch downs will be missed. If you cut 10 touch downs out of anyone's offense, they loose the majority of their games.Drew scored 33 TDs last year and 10 were to Graham. That's almost a third. If you dont think he'll be missed from that aspect, you're fooling yourself.

Auburn will stack the box to slow down LF, and force Harris to beat them, which he can not do. Harris will crack like he did last year. Defense will keep it close in the first half, but get worn down with all of the 3 and outs in the 3rd quarter, and loose by 10 pts.

This is your typical tune up game. If LSU Blows them completely off the field, it will be said that they should've done that. Now if they struggle with team, even a little bit, LSU will be questioned and Les Miles future with LSU will come into question. God forbid they loose.
LSU goes into the 4th quarter up by 4 touchdowns, McNeese get a couple of scores and make it look better than it really was.

If during the draft, drafts another receiver, or running back, it will be time to send him packing. I think on offense, I think he has too many weapons, no one has time to get in the flow of the game. Nobody can get into a rythym. He's too offense minded, and he is too predictable, and Drew gotta get out of his mind that he needs to go for the throat when a first down will do. Graham has to more aggressive off the line. He's too soft. The Defense is always out of position. They are too focused on learning different schemes when they can't even get the basic fundamentals down piss poor tackling and basic coverage.

Maybe Mat Ryan sucks, but I do give them respect for beating us and for fighting back in the Green Bay game. Far better than the Saints lying down in the dome against Carolina. They kicked us spit and Crapped in the dome and rubbed our face in it. If they show up like that in two weeks and our response is like last game, we will get out collective butts handed to us again. One more thing. Send Curtis Loften back to ATL

Absolutely it counts. A bad Pro D is head and shoulders better than any D he faced in college.

Drew will miss him, but who knows, not having such a big target, he might get some of his accuracy back. Maybe other players will step up and play better, now that they're getting more reps. If the O-Line can hold up, the D-Line can stop the run better we could win our first away game this season.

If LSU runs the ball with Fournette as the primary, LSU wins by a touchdown. If they put it the hands of the QB, they loose by a touchdown.

re: LSU more Losses than Wins

Stop getting your thong in bundle getting lost in the content, and focus more on the context. At some point Rip Van Winkle woke up. When are you gonna open your eyes? The program is on a serious decline. Once you start spiraling you typically keep spiraling until you hit rock bottom. When more teams start looking good, it makes you look less attractive to recruits. It's hard to rebuild a team when the top recruits in your own state don't want to play for you. You can get mad and curse all you want. Let's see if that improves the team. This season will tell us what LSU's leadership is all about.
LSU more Losses than Wins
Posted by SilvaSpear on 10/5/14 at 7:25 pm
They will be extremely lucky if they are .500 at the end of the season. With their future schedule they could win against Kentucky and that's doubtful also. Their last win could very well be their last win. With the exception of the loss in their last championship visit, the program has struggled. Bowl selection has declined. Not a good look for a perennial football. Other programs have built themselves to compete with the SEC, so who gets there will lean more on coaching than in the past. So where does that leave LSU? I expected this season would be tough, but even with losses, I hoped the team would at least be competitive. Maybe I'm wrong about my train of thought but I personally don't think that there is any team in the SEC that is 34 points better than a Good team. It all points to leadership starting with the coaches. It's time for some changes.

Over the past few years, he has lost a few number 1's out of the state to nick saban. Defense and power running has always been the SEC stamp. He has a power back that is said to be the real deal. Whether he is or not cannot not be determine with 7 carries. That is coaching. He cannot make adjustments on the fly. He has to go in at half time and make adjustments. That's coaching or a lack thereof. With a good team if you can't make situational adjustment dynamically, you are going to loose. LSU is starting every season getting ranked lower and lower. Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Texas A&M for sure is going to run all over them. That could be easily 4 losses. LSU being .500 and going to one of those garbage bowls? How are gonna feel about that?

Last season I ranted about the areas where Les Miles Lacked.
The one thing I said was he is too predictable and many of the best players in the state does not want to play for him. Honestly, I've never liked Les Miles, because he simply, cannot recruit and he cannot coach. Time to start looking for other options.

Graham is still learning the game, in my opinion. He has done well so far. He just needs to learn how to handle physical people in the secondary. He allows them to push him around entirely too much. He gets bullied by the Aquib Talibs, and Richard Shermans of the league. He is bigger and stronger and he needs to start showing them that he is. He needs to get pumped before the route just like he does when makes a good catch. You start beating an arrogant DB of Safety azz physically you will take him completely out of game, just like the 49er's receivers did to Carolina's secondary. The secondary was talking crap and getting beat up and getting frustrated and did something stupid at a critical moment in the game. Often time, very good arrogant DBs are also not disciplined.
