Was the Hit Olave took in 2024 a Dirty Hit?

Got into a disagreement with a co-worker that the above was a dirty hit, and that the defender could have held up and didn't have to follow through the way he did. He says it was a clean play and the blame lays squarely on Carr for throwing the hospital pass. While I agree for an over the middle ball it was too high, the hit was still a cheap shot. What does everyone else say?

Well, for one…..receivers used to take hits as bad (or worse) ALL THE TIME in the 80s & 90s. The Carr “hospital ball” bullshite is ignorant. Every HOF QB threw passes just like that in their prime, it happens. Every time I see someone talk about “hospital balls” from Carr causing all of Olave’s problems….. I know they’re just retarded. Olave had concussion issues in college, and one of them here was from Rattler.
The concussion issues were a Chris issue, he seems to have put it behind him (hopefully). But one of the reasons it’s still concerning, is that the way he put it behind him is to go down to the ground immediately after the catch, which leads to even less YAC than he had before.
But according to the rules, it was definitely a dirty hit IMO.

I didn't see it as dirty. It's football. No real launching. Just trying to stop his progress and possibly break up the play.

He could've let up, dirty hit to me. There was enough reaction time to see that the ball was deflected

I watched this vid on youtube and finally caught a still of the moment of impact and it looks to me like the DB's shoulder was the point of contact for the helmet... intentional or not that's a flag...

As a Saints fan, yes! After I take off my B&G goggles, no. It was illegal, but it didn't appear "dirty" to me.

100% on Carr for throwing a shitty pass especially knowing a safety was on top. Did not give CO a chance to defend himself before the impending hit.

Was it a flag-worthy hit? Yes, according to the rules. Was it “dirty”? No, in my opinion. To me, that’s part of playing across the middle of the field. That’s hard contact football and should be expected. And while it was a bad pass by Carr, it wasn’t a bad decision to throw that pass.
