Which he exploited so well with the Saints. Jimmy was just a good fit in N.O., Seattle is not the right place for him.

well...i guess there's that too...

so he'd be doing more in our system
Not just our system, he'd be putting up stats with 75% of the league but he went to one of the 25% that can't/won't use him properly.

Agreed. I like the trade and think it benefits us more long term but this thread is hilarious.

I gotta believe Drew would rather be tossing it to a good family man than a prima donna mulatto amirite

Graham is a mismatch nightmare, the issue was that he was a diva and he became a crutch for Brees way too often with the lack of an interior OL.
If we drafted Marcus Martin/Bryan Stork, La'El didn't have the issues, we would have him still. Hell, I think if we drafted a center we'd still have him.
A line of Armstead-Lelito-Martin/Stork-Evans-Strief with Graham and Cooks as the 1-2 punch would do better than what we have going on right now.
I like what I see in Anthony, but I would have been extremely happy with Dawson in the 3rd instead of PJ or Grayson or taken the 4th we sent Seattle for Kwon Alexander.
But what ifs are too common and often in the league, but to think he wouldn't have been a help to this ailing offense is ludicrous, regardless of how bad he's performing in Seattle and how Watson had a career game at the age of 34

The Bengal's tight end has taken his spot as the second best TE now.

This is true but I don't think this was an issue leading to his trade at all.

Why do you think he was traded?
Posted on 10/16/15 at 11:45 pm to saintsfan22
I think our WRs this year have proven why graham was a crutch. How blind can people be

Probably money and attitude. I certainly hope thinking Brees has to "prove it" without him wasn't a factor and if it was the front office is stupider than can be imagined.

Yes he was. He's in the wrong system. He has zero blocking skills and he's on a team that is a run dominant team.

Jimmy can properly use a tampon.....

I think you can argue that this was a rare trade that made both teams worse.
Hawks miss unger and jimmy hasn't fit in
Saints desperately miss the old jimmy and had other options at center and LB, cap gymnastics aside
oh well

Jimmy Graham will never be able to do things like the tackle Watson made in the 2005 divisional round game vs the Broncos. Incredible heart. He sprinted from the weak side of the field at the goal line all the way to the strong side of the field opposite goal line and actually caused a fumble out of bounds.
