I think it's a bit trite, this early on to presume anything beyond what we know, and what we know looks really, really bad for Hayes.
Suggesting anything outside of that is a much bigger leap than a Saints fan forming the same opinion as the NOPD.

I don't think there are many businesses where the shooting happened.
I guess it is possible that property owners might have security cameras.

and that is an assumption. did Smith pull a gun, did Smith fire a gun, did Smith ever been arrested or convicted of illegally owning a gun. Nope, so guess what he wasn't just as likely to.
We do hold Smith's actions as stupid. He shouldn't have H&R, he shouldn't have drove off, he shouldn't have probably argued, but guess what he didn't shoot at Hayes did he. Not at his front, back, side, leg, foot, hand, at ANY point did he fire a gun. Hayes shot at Smith's back, unless Smith blindly pointed his gun backwards, than where's the fact he put someone in danger?

I don't think that is what a lot of people are saying. I'm curious if you think given the facts you know, the location, time, etc of the first incident and the video, the pursuit looked potentially dangerous and capable of giving rise to a conflict. I do and when you have a guy shot dead who happens to be a former Saints player and his wife injured as well, the guy who chose to engage in the pursuit and did the shooting is going to have some difficult explaining to do, and I don't need any more facts to draw that conclusion.

When he retaliated by rearended Will Smiths car.
We need to let all the facts come out and both individuals played apart in this. However if I had been hit and run like Hayes I would have only followed to get the license plate of the car and then reported it to the police
