FWIW - I consider it a compliment that you think I could just pull this out of my arse. I am self-taught on Photoshop - there is no "textbook" way to do these things. It took me about 2-3 hours of trial and error just to find images I could easily (that's a relative term) manipulate for the "all-whites" and another couple hours to do them... The black helmet? I was exhausted after work one night when I started in on that one. It took a good 3-4 hours... I used the "undo" frequently... and I'm still amazed that I actually pulled it off.
I am currently working on an all-whites/white helmet version. It's easier to add color than subtract it while maintaining depth and detail... but I'll eventually figure it out.
Maybe after a couple cocktails...

yurintroubl....I will say it again. you did an awesome job pulling these off. excited to see the results of what you're working on now. arent you glad that "yours truly" ask you to make those all whites with the lsu style pants stripes? (haha jk) your a rock star now! keep up the good work.

I like the all whites with the original helmet the best.
I can't decide whether or not I like the all black, something seems off. I think it may be that the fleur de lis on the black helmet does not have a tertiary outline like the others. What about adding a gold outline to what you already have there? I'd also be interested to see if a black fleur de lis outlined in white and then gold would work?

actually, I really like this. I like how the helmet isn't pure white, but a very pale shade of gold. I'm not sure if you intended for this or not, but it is a good look. My favorite of the bunch

I did, actually - but I wasn't sure how it would look on other monitors...
When I made it completely white, it just didn't look right. I imagined it would be kind of like (but completely opposite of) the Jags new helmets....or pearlescent auto paint. There's a name for the effect, but it escapes me right now.

Not jocking your work troubl, very, very good job. Just no a big fan of all that. What they are wearing now is very tasteful and looks really good. Especially the black pants, white jersey, gold helmets. My fav. Looks like they ditched the all black pants this season though, and are going to stay with the gold/black stripe all season. Don't know if it was just preseason thing or what.
