Up and Coming Offensive Head Coaching Candidates

IF the Saints have any sack at all, they will can Allen this offseason. They will then do the smart thing and go after an up and coming coach on the Offensive side of the football.
Here are some names to think about:
Ken Dorsey, OC, Bills: He was obviously a QB on a National Championship team and was one in the pros for several years. Served as a Scout and then a QB coach for awhile, learning under Brian Daboll, and is now the OC to one of the best teams in football. If you're going to draft a QB high, I can't think of many better guys as your HC.
Mike Kafka, OC, Giants: Another journeyman QB that spent years under Andy Reid in KC as the QB Coach and Passing Game Coordinator, and is now the OC of the Giants, and has Daniel Jones playing fairly well.
Shane Steichen, OC, Eagles: Has spent a few years working himself up from Quality Control, to OC for the Chargers and now Eagles. He took over play calling duties in the middle of last year, and has them rolling. Yes, Siriani deserves most of the credit, but a lot of people seem to think this guy is an up and coming star. Almost everyone thinks he will be a HC next year, and he's worked with developing Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts.
I know they aren't going to do this. They are going to stick with Allen. But its fun to dream.

There's no point in burning a new coach until we can genuinely re-build.

Wonder if he will insist on signing Jones if Jones hits FA. Wouldn't mind Jones as a filler until the team can address the QB of the future, but I suspect Jones will still be able to demand a pretty hefty contract

Disagree, they will get something for Payton.
I want THE guy in the building for all of the rebuild. Even the tear down.

Daniel Jones actually showed good promise I think he could be a very good bridge QB to a younger draft pick.

Allen was handed the keys to a good team.
Injuries are no excuse. Payton still finished 9-8 last year with similar circumstances and covid. We are on track for 4-13.

He's not leaving Tenner, and I'm not interested in college coaches.

Why would he not leave Tennessee? He can bring his QB with him with the 33rd pick.
I'm interested in innovative offensive coaches that are play callers, as NFL head coaches.

But we know how this goes. Bring the guy in next year to start the rebuild. Either Saints go all out sick to get high pick, then everyone wants that coach fired anyway. Or the guy does what Daboll is doing and the coach is too good to suck bad enough to get that qb.
If they get something good for Payton, they need to trade a giant package to move up with team that doesn’t need a qb next draft. If not, just go with Allen another year, terrible season, start taking that cap hit. Let that fall on the outgoing coach.

Can’t believe some of y’all hyping Daniel Jones. Dude is trash. They found a way to win in spite of him. Sign of a good coach is using what the talent does best. That’s what Daboll is doing with Jones.

Wish we had more time this year and was able to give a legitimate offer to Daboll…. Would hope we look at Dorsey or Steichen, need an offensive mind these days. Put Allen back at DC, he’s not made out to be a head coach and I’m pretty sure he knows it…

Matt Patricia. If Bill Belichick hires you to be his OC then you hire that guy fast. Except for Josh McDaniel. But Matt Patricia is what I think of when I see the word offense. Have to check his previous jobs at OC before I can show the proof of his ability coaching up offenses like Joe Brady at LSU. Be right back with stats!
