My one question would be what if DeMario leaves? I get that Washington should be all over Sonny Styles, but they are in the same camp I think as far as helping the QB. Whether it's RB or even WR. Deebo Samuel isn't what he once was.
I’ve seen rumors that Washington is leaning heavily towards taking a WR because they’re not planning on re-signing Deebo this year or McLaurin next off-season.

I meant this specifically as a long term strategy as opposed to 2026.

This thinking is outdated. ETN is 27. What’s wrong with getting him for his Age 27, 28 and 29 years and then dumping him after?
How is not paying more for a guy who has lost a bit of burst ever outdated? Plus we’ve kind of shown recently that if he isn’t completely done but still declining that we will pay him again INTO his 30s (Kamara, Williams, etc).
I watch every jags game weekly with my son, he’s a great player. But I’m happy they’re likely dropping him and getting fresh young legs instead of committing money to him as gets closer to 30. THAT is smart and shows confidence in Gladstone’s algorithm to get guys in the mid round.

Yup. The rest of the league saw the seahags and the pats in the SB.

But get the 2nd,3rd round guy and get his best, most explosive 4 years before the league takes them.
This draft is one of the weakest at RB in a while. There’s a few good guys at the top, and some guys who could be late round gems, but there won’t be much there on day 2 or early day 3.

The guys from penn st and Norte dame in the second round then everybody else lol

we will have a significant chance of yet ANOTHER bust at edge
i don't see it.... dude produced at a very, very high level, short arms and everything... he wasn't a workout warrior like our other busts,
That’s the thing, Bain didn’t produce during the season and he didn’t have any real impact on the games I watched him in. He played great against aTm and tOSU. He disappeared against Ole Miss and had a pretty good game against Indiana. But half his “production” for the year was in 3 games, albeit against good teams.
I just don’t see him being an impact player. I think he’s the same as a Granderson, Cam, Chase. We need an outside guy who can rush the passer IMO. Someone like Bailey or Reese.
All that said, after the combine, I think Styles would be my top draft prospect. I remember life before Vilma and Fujita and what it’s like to pin your hopes on guys like Fleener and Keith Mitchell and Sedrick Hodge, etc.

I like Golladay in the second.

Yep. Same. Him or downs are my melt picks

quote:That's the whole thing about positional value that keeps coming up is that HBs don't have these big contracts compared to positions like QB, DE, LT, WR, and CB. You could sign 3 HBs for the price of 1 of most of those other positions. Same goes for LB, DT, OG, and even S is more on the cheaper side (closer to the middle though) like HB.
Just seems to me they would not want to dump a big contract on a FA RB.
So HB is EXACTLY where you dump FA dollars compared to WR or DE. This is why Love has to be considered so far above everyone available to be worth taking because HBs are one of the cheapest positions.
Posted on 3/4/26 at 9:17 am to Proximo
quote:Yeah basically said Love or nothing, and I think that's why you see teams trying to sort HB before FA even starts. Also, the depth at HB in FA is pretty deep compared to almost every other position this year, plus with how cheap HBs are comparatively that's where teams should be looking.
The running backs in this draft aren’t that good from reports I’ve seen
If you have the chance to draft Love on top, and he is far and away the best player available, you can still do that too, but don't try to fill HB solely in the draft this year because that ain't it.

I think that’s if you want a bell cow RB.
But i think we’d be in good shape if we could get a Singleton or Washington to pair with Neal and Estime.

Nearly two months out makes me question the legitimacy of this. Don't know if I'd use the term smoke screen this early though

same.. Werner has been a disappointment, Stutsman is still an unknown, and Davis may or may not be back... we are thin at LB/Edge

By that line of thinking you can draft 3 mid round guys of different skill sets over a few years for less than what you’re paying one mid tier 2nd contract guy.

I've been saying this. You don't put all your cards faecup on the table the way the Saints have been doing with Love unless you are playing a subterfuge. Love has never been their target.

Not sure why anyone melts over Downs. That’s an insane comment. Some team leaks bad info and everyone freaks out. This is what happens every year.

Half this board wrote off Makai Lemon bc he talked funny in an interview. I just don’t want a safety with the 8th overall pick.
