Saints suck at drafting DEs but thankfully Carl Granderson has been a great UDFA. Also amazed that Rashid Shaheed went undrafted.

Yeah that's kind of how the league works--not going to hit on everything. Chase Young is here now and makes up for a couple DE misses.

Foskey is quietly have a nice start to the season.

IMO he's going to develop into a solid player for us. I really hope there's a way to re-sign Chase Young because Cam Jordan is struggling out there. The mind is willing but the body is just not able anymore.

This is exactly why you don’t trade up for players in the draft. It’s way too hit or miss. Drafting is not an exact science no matter how good you think you are at evaluating talent. It doesn’t make sense to trade away the farm to move up 5 spots in the draft because it’s never a sure thing that the guy you traded up for will actually be good. You might as well play the numbers by keeping your picks and drafting more guys.

Hopefully the Saints will learn their lesson, but I doubt they will. They’ll keep making the same drafting mistakes over and over again because they think they’re the smartest person in the room even when they’re obviously not.

Eh yes and no. We traded up for Kamara, Von Bell, Ingram, Brandon Cooks, Kamara, Erik McCoy, Adebo, Koolaid, Olave and Penning too

We had notable misses in the first was the problem

If only this team took Achane and Branch like I wanted. Our biggest holes right now are safety and backup running back.

Achane and Kamara would be deadly.

Branch was certainly a miss and he fell right to us.

I've seen no one saying this.

he is a rotational player right now. I don't think he is a liability at all, but at the same time he's not making explosive plays. (the batted pass vs Dak was clutch though)

The locker room needs him this year if were gonna make a special run.

Patrick Mahomes is obviously a huge outlier.

Getting a franchise QB makes it worth it, but even that is quite risky and hit or miss.

If everyone had known what Patrick Mahomes would become, all 32 teams would have been willing to trade their entire draft for him.

There is a reason why he was an UDFA. He would have been drafted if not for that reason. I don't want to trash the player publicly, it is easy to find out the reason, but it was questionable at that time whether he would have been available for the 2019 season or even longer. The point being that Granderson wasn't a "find". He was a known to every NFL team. The Saints are the one that just offered the most money.

If as you say the Saints paid him the most then the Saints WANTED him the most
