Good luck to him.

Free-agent quarterback Trevor Siemian has reached agreement on a two-year deal with the Chicago Bears, according to his agent, Mike McCartney.
Siemian joins a Bears quarterback room that includes 2021 first-rounder Justin Fields, and the 30-year-old will likely compete with or supplant Nick Foles as Fields' backup in 2022.
Good luck to him.

Agreed - he played about as well as we expected him to here, and I got no ill feelings for him - thank you for what he did for us, and wish him all the best

Rather him be our backup over Taysom

His contract numbers matter for us because if it hits a certain figure it could help us get a comp pick for MW.

But the history of Chicago Bear Qbs since Luckman not named McMahon...
Oy-veh.
Helluva town for winners (as rarely as that happens there)

Will we be bringing in Nick Foles when he is released?

He blew two games in the 2nd qtr. I'm glad he is gone.

I really liked his pocket presence and progressions and would have loved to see him get a shot in a playoff game for us

Honestly with better WRs. He would have done better.

He stepped up in the pocket aggressively which is 1/2 the battle as a QB.
You've got to be fearless when getting through at least your first 3 reads as an NFL QB. If you get hit, you get hit. Hang onto the ball and don't let it phase you as you move on to the next down.
That simple trait - pocket presence (characterised here as: courage, confidence, and a very short memory) is what makes Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert such great young prospects. Other young guys are terrified and are bailing out of the pocket almost immediately (Taysom Hill, sometimes Baker Mayfield, always Kyler Murray), more or less ruining the play from the jump unless they can ad lib something.

If Trevor signed for 3.7M or more, it offsets and we get a 3/4 for Williams.
