Baker Mayfield looks like the best fit for the Sean Payton offense among this year’s crop of QB’s. *Assuming* the Saints really want him, and he is still on the board at #4....

The Browns want a RB. Most mocks have them taking Penn State’s Barkley there.

If the Saints offered Mark Ingram, and the Saints 27th pick in the first round and the Saints 1st round pick in 2018, do you think the Browns would bite? I think they might, and we’d get the guy we really want to be Brees’ successor, assuming that’s what the Saints want.

Thoughts?

Shot at the super bowl if we sure up a couple spots on D and add some depth

Or

Draft a project QB that we won’t need for 2-3 years?

Tough decision...

Why would you get rid of those picks and Ingram for Baker when the Saints are so close to winning a SB with what they have? Those picks you want to give up could be the missing pieces to winning a SB now. Play to win with Brees while you have him then worry about his replacement after you get your ring.
Also, you don’t know who will be available the next 2 years at QB in the draft or FA. Win now and worry about a QB when it’s time to.

Not sure the Browns would go for this. They could have Barkley for cheaper than Ingram. And the Saints like Ingram and wouldnt trade him away.

If we are looking to compete for the SB, our best route is to draft defense and wait for a QB prospect in the middle rounds.

#4???? Uh. No.

If he’s there 15-20 then you consider making a move.

That would be one of the dumbest draft day moves in recent memory.

If he somehow falls to us, I’d take him.
No way trade up.

Got past the first sentence. You want to trade up to #4 for Baker Mayfield?

This board would hate it but I’m fully prepared for us to jump up and take a QB. We wanted Mahomes last year, I expect us to go after someone should they drop to the 10-13 area.

Id rather draft/start a rookie the season after drew retires then to compromise any of what we have now
