Trading back needs to be our draft strategy

The situation the Saints are in demands bringing in large amounts of talent at a cheap bargain price. Trading back gives you more dice rolls (Since every draft pick is very risky and far from a sure thing; even the #1 overall pick is quite risky).
More dice rolls and lower acquisition costs is the only way to get this thing turned around immediately while keeping overall costs very low. This roster just has too many holes across the board to be able to fix it with free agent signings or high draft choices that have been acquired by trade at a premium.
Gotta nail the draft like we did in 2006 and 2017; it’s probably Kellen Moore’s only chance to turn the franchise around.

Hmmmm where have we heard this before?
Honestly I'm split, , if a extremely player drops I wouldn't mind the Saints being in the Top 10 I for some reason am stuck on TE, DL or OL
But trading back does make sense.

there's a lot of options i'd be ok with in the 12-24 type range.

I'm good to trade back unless Mason Graham is there.

No, better scouting is what our draft strategy needs to be. We actually have 4 top 100 picks for the first time in forever. Scout the shite out of players and get talented guys that will start for you.

You seem to be falling into the trap that some people fall into because they mistakenly think that the more information you have the better your decisions will always be. In actuality, information can only get you so far. The law of diminishing returns sets in, and eventually more information doesn’t help you at all.
There’s a certain amount of risk that cannot be removed and will always be there no matter how much you scout players. That’s why having more draft choices is the always the best strategy.

I read somewhere that their are only like 8 players with a generational talent evaluation in this draft. Neither are the 2 QBs. So that would mean the Saints would have a shot at one of the 2 remaining talents. Stay put and pick whomever that may be u less you get a crazy package for someone to move up.

People have been wanting the saints the trade back for like a decade now and they never do lol

I think it's too early to really say that without the combine & pro days hitting, but do you recall the 8 players.
I have not followed the draft too much this year, but have seen that tag thrown around with Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Mason Graham, & Ashton Jeanty.
Does that put Tetairoa McMillan, Malaki Starks, Will Johnson, & Will Campbell as the other 4. Assuming them since most sites have the above 8 with Sanders & Ward consistently being the top 10 picks

And when they finally do it, there will be a future All-Pro/HoFer at a position of need sitting right there

Offensive line, offensive line, offensive line. Until we have a solid offensive line, the offense does. Not. Work.

Here's a good trade back draft that I've conjured, mate

We need high end talent on our roster. Mike D says it best. Who on our roster would start on another good team? McCoy? Bresee? Olave?
We need studs. You are better off drafting at 9 if you have good scouting. Literally everyone available to us at 9 is at a position of need.

More dice rolls is the way. Every team in the NFL has quality scouts.

I keep seeing posts about trading back. Honestly I do agree with the strategy but you still have to find teams willing to make that trade.

I don’t care if we trade up, down, or stand pat, we desperately need playmakers on both sides of the ball.

Hunter
Carter
Graham
Jeanty
Starks
Johnson
Warren
Williams
Was the list. You have to walk away with one of these players. I don't love drafting Jeanty simply bc we have Kamara still, deep draft for RBs, and way more pressing needs. But I would be happy with any of these players.
