This is why CSP and Brees brought him in for that writeup last week. They know they have to court the media and they're doing it. Sometimes you have to play the game.

Oh, you mean pulling a Brees.

Interesting fact: did you know that the guy they named that after has never won an MVP award?

I don’t think that’s a fair standard, but it is what it is.
Given his career and the fact he's not won an MVP yet, I think he's a lock if the Saints make it to the NFCCG and he doesn't have some drastic fall-off between now and then.

All other things equal, the writers will make it a "career" award. Mahomes is a young buck and will get other chances.

Which is why the mvp has been ruined as an award

Most if not all awards are like this in some form or fashion. Emmy awards have little to do with what is on screen. Good for the Saints for finally playing along. You would love for someone to get awarded for their own merits, but when they lose out twice........

Heisman has become a circus too. Its about being a top 10 player and being on good terms with the media.

Luckily Payton gave King inside access to Saints game prep for the Eagles. Peter King's ego is now stroked. It's all good. The gate keeper to the MVP has spoken. It shall be.

Payton knew exactly what he was doing

Of course he did.

Gotta make the media gate keepers happy.

Yeah, I'm cynical. Drew doesn't deserve the MVP because Peter King and the rest of the media say so, he deserves it because he is objectively having the best season of any player in the league.

Once again, Peter King looking like a joke. Doesn't even have Andrew Luck in his top 5. Sham

I mean I could make a case for Luck over Roethleisberger, and imo Rivers should be 4th, but all 3 are very close.

Hell I think Thielen and Thomas deserve to be in that same range.

Luck should be #2

What he's doing for the Colts right now is even better than Mahomes. He'll end up with more TD passes too.

If they want to kiss Peter King's fat arse to get an extra MVP vote, Payton should talk to him about taking away our 2nd amendment rights. That would make King's fat pussy incredibly wet.
