Totally understand. Felt compelled to give the board the info I received because im a long time ticket holder and fan who truly wants my black and gold to succeed. Deal could possibly have a Brees effect for our defense.

That's awesome and I really hope the case. He would take our front to the next level. Assuming it's at least a 2 year deal to match Brees time here we've got another solid 2 years to get another ring.

Isn’t Suh an engineer ? Like I think the dude is pretty bright and will likely make some money after football. Hopefully we’re close to Tenn.

ETA: see Brod posted it in other thread. I had read something similar once. I like our chances.

Ranking all 32 offensive lines from the 2017 NFL season

5. TENNESSEE TITANS
Total pressures surrendered: 126
Best player: Jack Conklin

The Titans also finished 13th overall in total defense in 2017. The Saints finished 17th.

Did they start their first two games on D with their head up their arse and then lose half of their starters to IR?

Considering the season we had I'm surprised we still finished 17th.

Houston fans are going nuts over Watson, and he is a great talent without question, but he won’t be as successful this season. Teams will have some tape to define how the Texans plan to use him. Reminds me a lot of RG3 and Kapernik, once teams were able to adjust.

People also need to realize that the Titans have a new coaching staff which was part of what held them back honestly.

I'd say a 3 year makes the most sense for all sides. Suh will want more guaranteed money than a 2 year deal will bring and we need the extra year to spread the hit.

In the end it'll likely effectively be a 2 year deal, but I see it being 3 on paper.

Yes, so that only makes how they finished on defense that more impressive.

Again, I think the Saints have the advantage in the Suh sweepstakes because of Sean Payton & Drew Brees. Mariota is too inconsistent & injury prone.

Possibly, but they had to play most of their season with Tom Savage. Thats just a disaster waiting to happen. Not enough tape on Watson to definitively say one way or another what he is but at least he plays in a real offense. Kaepernick was a product of that read option crap.

Damn all of these great Titan’ stats! Their coach must’ve been banging the owners wife! Absolutely the only way he deserved to be FIRED!

It doesnt really make any sense that the Saints had by far the least amount of pressures surrendered and the best running game in the NFL and yet finished 9th on PFFs offensive line list. I like PFF but have never really put much stock into their lineman rankings. There were games this year where Peat absolutely dominated and he still never graded well. Doesnt make much sense.

Learn how to use stats in their proper context. Maybe that is hard for you to do. The stats I posted above show the Titans strengths which is their offensive line & their defense. Their weaknesses are at QB & WR. Mariota is still inconsistent & constantly battling injuries. They also are very limited at the offensive skill positions especially WR. They signed Dion Lewis with hope that he will help catching passes out of the backfield.

“Stats in proper context” that’s funny. You can view stats in a variety of ways to point and counterpoint. Ultimately you have to look at the play on the field. Not all yards, touchdowns, and outcomes are created equal. That is why these outliers exist where teams make the playoffs, win a game, and a week or so later their coach gets dropped like a bad habit. See Titans.

Yep & that means the Titans are a team who made the playoffs & got a win on the road.
