Just hear me out for a second. While watching the game a thought came to me while the Saints were struggling mighty hard and not looking like the same team. What if Payton purposely called the game to lose in a big way to show to the league that Drew was the MVP. “Hey look how bad we are without Drew playing QB!” Seems that for the last two weeks that has been an argument in the media when talking about who should be MVP.

You are crazy!

Buuuuutttt... once I started drinking I convinced myself the defense was calling bullshite plays to mislead our next opponent.

It was a VERY vanilla game plan on both sides. Even still I was disappointed with how the starting defense played. They lacked energy.

Not that I care all that much though. The game meant nothing for us.

Listen to Payton’s post-game presser and see if that sounds like a coach who threw the game

He just sounds like that so people won't think he threw the game.

Payton dressed only 36 of his 53 players. Of course he threw the game. No one in the Saints' organization gave a shite about a game that didn't matter.

Players I saw play:

QB
Bridgewater
Hill

HB
Ingram
Washington

FB
Line

WR
Thomas
Smith
Kirkwood
Lewis
Carr

TE
Watson
Hill
(not sure I saw Arnold so I'll leave him out)

Oline
Peat
Unger
Tom
Clapp
Lucas
Newton
(can't recall seeing Ram)

DE
Jordan
Okafor
Davenport
Hendrickson

DT
Rankins
Davison
Onyemata
Stallworth

LB
Davis
Anzalone
Klein
Robertson
Te'o
Biegel

CB
Lattimore
Apple
Williams
Crawley
Hardee

S
Williams
Coleman
Bell
Banjo

K
Lutz

P
Morestead

LS
Wood

That's at least 44 right there, with the only active players (only 46 can be active) I'm unsure on being Arnold and Ram.

So not sure where you got we only played 36 guys.

How many did you see not play?

It was announced before the game only 36 players were active.

No it wasn't. 46 is ALWAYS the active roster number, and I just named 44 I know for sure played.

So MAYBE 2 active players didn't play.

Edit:
You can go look at the box score and we have 21 defenders with at least 1 tackle, which Okafor had none and we know he played. That's AT LEAST 22 just on defense.

We know the 3 specialists played.

We know AT LEAST 6 of the 7 Olineman played (5 need to play and we know Peat got hurt and was replaced).

We know at least 11 other offensive players played because they have recorded stats (which includes targets).

That's 42 right there. And I saw Kirkwood and Biegel out there, so whether you believe that or not that's 44.

Thanks. I had people over so there were a few plays I had missed (and wasn't really looking at the TEs).

See if you said Payton wanted to lose to the same teams they did in the Superbowl year to play head games then I may have agreed. #losttobucscowboyspantherswonsb
