They are. Even first rounders have a much higher bust rate than people think (depending on the parameters, it's between 30-50%).

It's also why people are extremely irrational about whether picks pan out and what the actual value of later round picks are.

we’re all guessing. if you look at where Tyson was slotted and think about how dogshit our wr situation is it is irrational to be mad.

At WR? They absolutely are

Tyson was both a need and best available at our pick. You don’t pass on him in hopes that one of the other WRs you like less is there at your next pick

This board would be howling if Shough would’ve ended up throwing to Polk and Bub Means in October. This is not a one year process. We can grab defensive playmakers still.

I was hoping he got drafted by an NFC east team so we could watch a T-rex fight when he went up against Will Campbell

Hard to believe there were two NFC teams in the Super Bowl last year. What an oversight.

I don’t know how you could be upset over the Saints adding an actual top end talent to this group. I’d rather support Shough in his 2nd year in a good offense than hope a 2nd - 3rd rounder pans out.

Agree with all of this! I think we need to double up on WR this year.

Cheap QB play is the greatest cheat code in the league, we have to take advantage of that window

No other way to upgrade the WR room and it needed to be.

Also even for a mediocre WR class, there’s still a good bit going here in rd 1, so I don’t know how anyone can say with confidence we’d get a good one in rd 2

Weren’t you one of the ones that kept telling how great Vele was all last year when I’d bring up that we shoulda traded for Pickens.

Now our receivers are dog shite and we had to draft one in the first? This was one of the reasons I wiukda preferred to trade for Pickens. Save draft assets for other positions…..

We definitely shouldn’t have traded for Pickens.

No

I think Vele has potential and like him. I think it would be madness to depend on that potential.

So we get Pickens for one year, then have to pay him AND Olave big bucks? That would have been stupid as frick.

And if you think we shouldn't have paid both, then that is also stupid as frick because we would then be in the same scenario of only having 1 receiver and still needing another.

Vele was cheap and has more time to get a look at, and won't cost a fricking fortune.

You realize if we traded for Pickens we wouldn’t still have those assets?

People forget things really fast. Looking at the Receivers Shough was throwing to at the end of the season was laughable

Shough did really well, with the Street WRS.
But the Street WRs consistantly dropped balls or did some other bonehead bum moves.

Adding Actual Talent is going to be huge.

HUGE.

We wouldn’t have our first and second this year? Because yes we would.

We wouldn’t have our third, but we’d have another 4th instead.

For the millionth time. Wanted to tank for Arch.

Still not as stupid as thinking Vele was a better trade than getting Pickens for the cost of moving down one round….
