get too emotionally invested in sports. You have no control over the outcome of the games and the outcome really has no affect on your life any way.

Professional sports is a business. You are not “a part of the team” no matter how loud you yell. You are just a customer.

Do any of you get excited about how many cars Benson dealerships sell? Of course not.

Do you enjoy music? You’re not part of the band. How about movies or tv shows?

It would be nice if this could be said for all involved.

Yes. But do you get emotionally invested in the success a particular musician or movie director has?

Generally speaking, I don’t get too emotional about sports any more but I kind of wish I could.

Exactly, it's just a game. And it's looking more and more like writers determine these outcomes. Just take it as it is, the WWF. Your team will win sometimes when it's part of the script.

When Saints won a SB I stopped melting. I did melt pretty bad in playoffs of 2011, after that I’m just here and enjoy watching. I’m glad we got our SB, 50 SBs would be nice but I never thought I’d see one.

It's not a bad attempt but it's still not a good analogy.

When it comes to movies and music and other art, the payoff is during the reception of the service. In the case of sports the payoff is both during the reception of the service as well as at the conclusion of the service. Everybody expects a happy ending.

how can you follow this franchise and not be in love with it?!? I love my fricking saints like a family member and when shite like this happens its impossible to accept in the moment. as time heals all after a few days life will be normal again but this franchise brings me joy on a daily basis that is transcendent. its the invested emotion that ultimately brings me the joy so if you arent truly a part of that then i feel sorry for you and you should try it out

It's easy to say, but hard to actually do.

Passion is passion.

I try my hardest not to stress over it and even when I try to walk away and do other things.. I still am nervous about it.
