You think it’s just a coincidence that we’ve had way more pre snap issues with Teddy than with Brees?

The offensive line didn’t all of the sudden get worse.

I suppose if not turning the ball over is the new standard we don't have a right to expect much offense out of Bridgewater.

No, winning games is the standard

Hold the pass catchers and OL to the same standard if you want this complete offensive performance

No doubt, he saved the game against Dallas with that pitiful defense and special teams from the Saints.

Why oh why won't Coach payton and Loomis read all the post like this one that's posted around here?

Is CSP a lot more stupid than we think? Could all these years just been luck? How can any coach getting paid millions not see how bad TB is and how great Taysom is? It seems that the posters like you around here should be running the Saints not the frauds that are now.

We need to start a "Fire Payton now"! web site and everyone who thinks TB sucks and Taysom is better can help get it started.

Lets do this true Saints fans

Problem for Teddy is he's not just a back-up QB. We're being sold on the idea that this is his audition to be Brees' successor. As a Backup, he's doing fine. But as to the successor bit, he's failing pretty hard. So you have to separate out the criticism. Are people being hyper-critical of the way he's performing as a back-up? Because that's not fair. But are they saying this guy is not the answer Post-Brees? That's totally fair. 2 Touchdown passes in three games is just not good enough.

He has thrown one INT in 2 games and it wasn't his fault. Teddy has managed the game, hasn't made the huge mistakes we couldn't overcome, and is making some plays. There aren't many backup QBs in the NFL that could come in and play against those 2 tough opponents and come out of it 2-0. You are delusional if you expected him to come in and play like a HOF QB, or even a top 15 NFL starter.

Look, he has limited mobility and below-average ability to go deep (which is concerning enough, but can be attributed to just not having the physical goods to do any better).

He relies on sound decision-making (most of the time), similar to how he played in his last full season in Minnesota.

He's a less-mobile and less turnover-prone version of Blake Bortles: manages the offense and lets the RB1, WR1, defense, and special teams win the game.

It is what it is.

I forgot some people don't understand sarcasm

Look here is the truth. He isnt great or even good right now he's serviceable and isn't losing games.

Same goes the other way he isn't terrible or even bad he's serviceable but isn't winning games.

We just have to hope he either holds the course or improves until the GOAT gets back. Rather than regressing snd getting worse causing the aging GOAT to play like he's in his 20s again just to make the playoffs.

If this is his audition for the starting job it's going terrible our HOF coach knows that. But our HOF coach trusts him more than anyone else on the roster and I'm cool with it.

I don't think that is the primary driver but I suspect it is more relevant than some would like to admit.

I believe the bulk of the irrational criticism is a combination of a lack of awareness as to how much better Brees is than most very good QBs and an extreme affection people have for Tasom Hill.

The thing about Hill is he is an awesome competitor and great as a situational QB but I do not believe he would be any better than Teddy in this offense and possibly worse.

This!
All of a sudden there are numerous penalties, mostly holds, and dropped passes from guys like MT who has one of the highest catch % in the league.
The only thing that has changed is the QB. The line and WRs didn’t get worse. TB is the issue.
Zero pocket awareness and no touch on passes.

Also to people talking about TB’s passing yards and completion %, he only had 3 more passes past THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE than he did behind the line of scrimmage. A 10 year old can make those passes. He’s not passing for those yards, AK and other players running the ball after the catch are getting those yards.

Uhhhh only because the defender dropped the ball (I guess TBs lack of touch does have some pros—defenders can’t catch his pass either). He has thrown multiple terrible decision passes that hit the defender in the numbers.
One was with 9-10 minutes left in the Seahawks game, which could have changed the outcome of the game of KJ Wright held on to it

Easily impressed huh? He didn't lose the game but I wouldn't say he won it by a long shot. That being said, I like him being our backup but not for his paycheck.

How many starting quarterbacks lose their teams games left and right? How many backups do that?

The problem is with some of your expectations. He hasn’t made big plays, but he hasn’t had to. He’s not Brees. If we’re down in a game and he falls on his face, then we can go from there.

What is the salary you would be ok with for a good backup?...just nonsensical.

We lost our star player, our first ballot hall of famer, our highest paid player by far, and we’re 2-0 in Teddy’s starts. He absolutely deserves credit for doing enough to win.
