Here is the trade

quote:

Trade: The #Eagles trade picks No. 16, 19, and 194 to the #Saints in exchange for picks No. 18, 101, 237, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick.

It gives them 2 top 20 picks which will allow them to fill multiple holes with day 1 starters. They have 3 picks in the top 50. The saints clearly feel strong about some players in this draft and wanted the capital to make a move on them.

My guess is they draft a tackle, safety, and WR with their 3 picks in the top 50. All guys who they expect to come in and make an impact immediately.

With a healthy roster this team is most likely much better than last year meaning that first will probably be later. More comp picks should be coming as well with the departures.

The Saints going WR and QB. Saints can possibly add 3-4 starters in this draft.

I doubt they are going QB in this draft. Not with the holes they have and no real need for a QB yet. The QB’s in this draft aren’t that good. And the falcons or panthers will probably take Willis and Pickett

I'd rather Olave. Good prospect and a rookie contract.

This class has some solid receivers. Olave being one of them. We have seen how this franchise drafts. And one of those first round picks most likely is going to be a tackle. This franchise believes in success from the trenches. I think the two firsts end up being a tackle and WR.

QB draft is weaker in 2023.

Yes, we have Winston who ,last i checked, had some of the best numbers in the league before he got hurt. Oh and that was without any NFL receivers on the field too.

One of the worst draft classes in years... Of course the Saints go after two first rounders...

Well, the top 20 is still really good. And there are some great players available at positions the saints have holes in. The saints knew who they wanted when they made this move.

Still weird bc you don't know what the board looks like at 16 yet.

and it was supposed to be relatively strong this year when Howell, Rattler, etc we're thought to be top 5 locks. Point being...things change drastically at that position in season

I thought this, but by giving up next year's 1st they are either all in on Winston for the next 2 years; or they are grabbing someone this year.

Hope you are correct with this

Depends how you look at it. Almost all analysts are saying the QB class is not impressive this year. There are also several basically saying there are no "sure fire guys" if you read their breakdowns/grades. However, a lot of them are saying there is a lot of really good quality players in the draft, and McShay has 23 first round grades (whatever that's worth). But if that's true, then the best place may be in that 10-25 range; where the Saints now have 2 picks

And if all plays out well, that '23 1st round pick will be in the 25-30 range (ideally 32)
