The phantom QB roughing

In the second quarter is really my biggest referee gripe of the game. Gave them 4 extra points, would’ve been a totally different ballgame at 27-19.
Whatever retardation infects a defensive coordinator to allow 10 catches for 160+ and 2 touchdowns when he’s the only real threat boggles my mind. I mean really, what the frick?!

The good thing is we can piggy back off it being the exact same thing that gave the Chiefs 15 yards when it happened to Mahomes earlier in the day
Talking heads have 2 examples of what would be a perfect form tackle on any other player on the field giving a team 15 yards in 1 day... including it happening to the league's premier QB

Then the rule needs to be changed. I completely understand it if we are talking about the ball being out of the QBs hand and that is the result after a step.
If the ball is still in (or just barely out without any ability by the defender to change their course), then that’s a fricking form tackle.

I understand, but it’s been the rule for 4-5 years at least. Learn the rules I guess.

This is the gayest reply anyone can make when discussing these type of things. Same things with the Lions game. How many idiots said, well technically they got it right based off, blah blah. frick that and frick you.

The rule is just dumb for lots of reasons but in this case Cousins was already falling back before he was even hit. There are laws of physics preventing the defender from following the rule.
At this point, just give the QB a non contact jersey and be done with it bc everything else is becoming totally subjective.

It's a fine rule. If you let these elite athletes deliberately try to hurt the qb's, they are going to be successful.
Losing the stars hurts the league. I like Shough being protected too, because he's fragile.

And this is why the NFL is a trash league. That someone actually wrote this rule down which was then ratified by the rest of the league rule makers tells you all you need to know. A textbook tackle gets flagged for landing too hard? Get out of here with that nonsense.
I stopped watching and following the NFL a few years back, and this is the main reason why. If it's not the Saints or Steelers, I find something else more productive to do with my time. It's not a boycott; it's just me not liking the damn product.
