Perfect time to trade back some and get all of the picks, rebuild the O and D line.

Not a Carr fan, but we are anchored to him for now. But make no mistake, this thing needs rebuilt all up an down the OL and WR room. Throw in needing a punter. Rattler may be able to develop, he has a little moxy anyway.

We need to follow Detroit’s blueprint. Get picks, build trenches first, then fill in skill postions.

I agree. Not impressed with this qb class. Focus on oline and wr’s. I would rather try to find a Sam Darnold whose already in the league. Give them a great oline and weapons to distribute to.

Pat Maholmes can't win on this team. It doesn't matter.

Nobody really had JD as what he currently is a year ago.
The guy who absolutely shredded everyone in front of him (similar to Burrow)?? It's November. Yes, EVERYONE knew by now.

Why is this being downvoted?
Because its wrong. Like I said, by November, everyone knew who Jayden was. He was the Heisman favorite by Week 9 (which is this week btw). If not for getting knocked out of the Bama game, he likely would have secured it then and ran away with it. Instead Penix hung around.

This years class blows.

Just our luck. Why couldn’t this happen last year so we get JD5

Only it still wasn’t a given he was going to be a high pick and nfl qb. That’s revisionist history.

History has shown that most of the time experts don't know which qbs will be good or not. Odds say a good qb will emerge from the 25 draft.

The situation a QB goes too often matters the most of anything.

And ours is awful.

Is OL a massive problem really? Fuaga is a rookie and has been fine. Patrick isn’t a long term solution but has been fine. McCoy is hurt. Ruiz has been hurt but is serviceable. And Penning is serviceable, to everyone’s surprise. Can you upgrade? Definitely. But you’re not drafting an interior OL in the top 5. So unless you have Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks just graded through the roof, I don’t think it’s an automatic pick. This OL group when healthy is pretty good. It fell to shite when the interior was Saldiveri-McGovern-Young.

I agree with this. McCoy going down was a huge blow

We could use an upgrade in the IOL but as you said shouldn’t have to use a top 5 draft pick to accomplish that.

Very good IOL can typically be found in rounds 2-4…. Just need to identify and develop the right ones

I'm relatively certain we will suck long enough to get a potential franchise-changing QB at some point

sanders seems legit, but that's about it as far as sure fire starting nfl qbs. nussmier looks good when he isn't pressing. he trusts his wrs a bit too much. he has a hard time gauging 50/50 balls. nuss is worth a late first/second rounder. i don't think any of the others are worth more than a third at best.

best scenario is to trade this pick for a rebuild. better to draft a qb in a year or two while we build up a roster and have the draft capitol to move up in 25 or 26 if need be.

get your O line set before thinking about a franchise QB

we really just need a starting LG and some solid depth. we could improve for sure, but our entire dline and the safety positions are in dire need of some talent.

need DT, DE, LG, FS, WR back up G and backup LT/combo T. ruiz needs to be the backup C. apparently mcoy was the mvp of this team going into the season. WR might a more pressing need pending olave's health. need another anyway.

Oline does need some work. We need another center. We can't go all to sh!t when Mccoy goes out. We need a starting LG. And then every single lineman not a starter or named Patrick needs to be booted. We have nothing behind our starters and Penning is still a question mark.
