The one weakness of the DA defenses has been running QBs imo

DA's defenses have almost always been good to great, but the one style of QB that seems to give them some issues is QBs that can run really well, especially with power.

Jalen Hurts is 2-0 vs the Saints as far as I am aware.

in 2020 he threw for only 147 yards but ran for 106

In 2021 he threw for only 167 but ran for 3 Touchdowns.

What are your thoughts on this going into this game? It does seem to me that if we can get our Offense off to hot starts we can force them to throw much more AND we have to play Willie Gay as a spy on him all game.

I think Gay was brought in partially for this reason. We’ll see how they use him this week

I think this year is different. We have a lot of speed and athleticism on the DL. They can close gaps quickly.

he's basically made for the role. I imagine they will employ it on most obvious passing downs.

The Saints have had trouble against running QBs but so have most teams.
To beat the Saints they will still have to throw the ball in crucial situations.
Hurts can throw the ball but he is inconsistent .Keep him in the pocket and
prevent him from running and make him throw accurate passes and if he does more power to him.

If Lattimore plays, I like our odds in pass coverage. If the pass rush hits home, Philly will have a lot of trouble.

If they don’t have AJ Brown, I’d play all 3 backers and load the box. The only receiver they have that scares me is Devonta, and I’d feel really good about our corners manning up on him. Hurts isn’t nearly as good when he doesn’t have a Superman out wide

They can do this a lot early downs but I think they will play 3 safeties a lot.

As long as the Eagles score less than 40 points, we'll be fine.

As bad as the Philly Defense is, I think you only need to stop their offense (or get a turnover) 2 time, maybe even once if possessions work in your favor around halftime

This may sound strange but the defensive game plan should be to rattle Eagles OC Kellen Moore. He will over think and that offense will start having dead ball penalties due to late getting plays in and having wrong personnel on the field for the play called.

I can be wrong, but I'm actually quietly confident we can really limit the Eagles on offense if they dont have AJ Brown. I'd really like to see them load the box against Saquon

IMO, this is the game that you play Chase Young over Cam. Him and Granderson on the edges, as long as they don't overpusue, solve a lot of your athleticism problems. You let Cam and Bresee rush from the middle on third and long. I agree that Willie Gay is on this team for this game. You let him spy the entire time.

DA said after the game that Latt was a little pissed at him for not letting him play. Didn’t want a one week injury to turn into a month though

I think he suits up this week

Yep. When Hurts has played, the Eagles have been able to run on the Saints where most haven’t. Hopefully the offense keeps cooking to the point Philly has to abandon the run.

The most rush attempts in a game for Hurts is 18 - he did it twice, both against the Saints. He was also 30/54 (55%) with 1 TD in those two games

If you remember, he went for 106 yards vs us on the ground in his first career start in the NFL
