Did the new offensive system bring a new blocking scheme?

Until they get rid of Loomis, it won’t matter. And he’s in Gayle’s will.

LG?

What about right tackle?

I'm shocked they didn't sign a decent vet for either LG or rt.

They are behind the eightball before the season even starts.

Such a bad decision by loomis/da

I mean we basically know penning is going to have struggles at rt.

How they thought that was a good idea is beyond me.

They had plenty of vets they could've brought in for barely any money.

Even a guy like Greg van roten or Aaron stinnie.

How do you not bring in a vet as the backup tackle with what you know about penning

Loomis needs to go

I wish it was only a LG issue.

I don’t know at what point you people will get this, but Loomis isn’t going anywhere and will more than likely be part owner of this team in the future. So if all yall are going to do is bitch and complain, then sell your tickets, if you actually have them, quit watching and go pull for someone else

So your definition of a fan is basically asking someone who is being fed a pile of shite- to say thank you and ask for another. Anyone who disagrees needs to stop being a fan? Whats wrong with questioning the direction of the organization?

Being a fan of the saints doesn’t mean you are required to be a fan of Mickey Loomis.

We were always screwed if Saldiveri didn’t take the LG spot and run away with it. Well, we are a reed. He’s hurt. Again. Hey at least if we completely suck arse this year we might draft high enough to get Will Campbell.

Loomis stays

Unfortunately, I think Loomis could frick a goat at midfield during halftime and his job would be safe

If things are really so bad, there are still several guys available at OT and G that’ve played and had success in the NFL.

They are almost certainly all past their primes, but I think there are options out there that improve the situation dramatically, either as starters or quality depth/“swing” options.

Available Free Agents as of July 25th

I have a feeling it will fall in the "should be" category and we'll be stuck with him through 2025. Past few years, there have been a few younger OCs that have turned down HC opportunities because they did not like the situation. The fact that they finally did not chase "the one missing piece" this offseason is giving me optimism that they are trying to do a soft rebuild (has to be soft because of how contracts are structured. When you look at the cap situation, that rebuild will need to go through at least 2026. I think you may be able to convince someone to come on board if you can sell them on 1 year left of a rebuild, and "hopefully" a high draft pick in 2026.

2025: $100+M over the expected cap with 59 players under contract (including those to be cut this offseason)
2026: currently $27M under the cap with 36 players under contract (including those to be cut this offseason). Obviously, some of that 2025 number will need to roll into 2026; the big question is how much.
Right now, your 2027 roster is basically McCoy, Granderson, Ruiz, and this year's draft picks

Trade Latt before his bonus hits in late Aug/early Sept and you save about $11M against 2025 cap and $28.5M from 2026 cap
Ram reties 6/01/25 and you save $18M on the 2025 cap, and $14.3M on 2026 cap

Let DA being the sacrificial lamb in 2025 and use the 2025 offseason to get your next HC to begin rebuilding the roster while "hopefully" clearing a lot of the dead contracts with the hopes that 2027/2028 will be a true fresh start.

1 yr deal last year, season ending injury. The End. For now.... no idea about recovery or if there's anything left in tank.

I'd kick the tires on mark glowinski.

Vet that can play left guard.

They are probably waiting to see what happen with salidveri

Again, Lucas Patrick played center because McCoy was out

LT - stud rookie (best LT we have in the last few years)
LG - someone will step up (we have numbers to fill an easy position)
C - very good
RG - serviceable
RT - ??????????

We should be able to run the hell out of the ball, and with the new OC, our offense may be a little better than last year, especially in the redzone.

Our defense will be top 10.

Saints are winning the division if they can figure out the RT spot. No worries on the LT or LG.
