Make the arseholes the ones at odds with the team. It’ll just fuel their fire but at least then I can fricking be a Saints fan without feeling sick. I’m okay saying frick MT and the other specific arses but if the whole organization throws him under the bus, I guess I’m out till things right themselves.

They can’t - 90% of the team disagrees with him passionately and probably our chubby coach does too

We are already the cartoon villains of the NFL. I say go for it and support the man who made your franchise.

You and I both know that won't happen. Everyone is going to capitulate, Drew will through some money at a black organization and make a general pandering statement, the saints will make a general pandering statement as well. It's impossible to go against this script nowadays cause the 1% outrage and cancel culture outweighs the 99% of people who don't give a shite.

The problem is that he didn’t even say anything objectively controversial. It’s so extremely contrived that I almost wouldn’t believe it’s happening if it weren’t for my years of Twitter experience. I’m 20 years old and I’ve had a Drew poster in my room since I was 8. I’m watching my childhood hero get crucified by his own teammates. Disgusting.

So if the organization supported the majority of the players who are speaking against Drew, would you accept that or condemn them?

Condemn. They’re ganging up on a teammate and the greatest player in Franchise history over absolutely nothing other than stating a perfectly valid opinion and voicing support for the causes that they all view as important.

Saints stand behind Brees comments publicly, good luck signing another black free agent. Whether it’s right or wrong, that’s the reality of it.

So why are you condemning his teammates for voicing their "perfectly valid" opinions?

Because their “opinions” are lob shots directed at a team mate on social media, stirring up the entire internet into a hate storm towards a player who said absolutely nothing wrong. It’s despicable and shouldn’t be tolerated. You shouldn’t gang up on a teammate on social media in front of the world.

lot of people disagree with you here. but I guess since you said it, it's a fact and not opinion and therefore is not open for discussion?

What exactly did he say wrong then? He said that his personal stance on kneeling was that he didn’t care to do it based on his own convictions. He said he supported the causes and the fight against injustice. And apparently his comments were “unacceptable” to his teammates so why shouldn’t their ignorant and pansy arse subtweets be viewed that way from a professionalism standpoint?

was that no one should ever kneel, no matter what the circumstances. Completely ignoring what is happening to his teammates' community. Maybe instead of puffing his chest in an interview, he should talk to those teammates (like many of you keep complaining about) and ask why they feel this way.

If he supported their cause he wouldnt condemn their form of protest.

Now, if the saints/Brees write a multimillion check, they will stop this. Brees could shite on a protestor and get away with it if he gives away $10mil. It’s all about money.

Or maybe he understands why they do it already? As if anyone who doesn’t live under a fricking rock doesn’t know about BLM? Remember when he got bullied into kneeling against his convictions? Did he go around on social media blasting all his teammates? Conform to their standard of beliefs or be labeled a fricking Nazi. What a world.

It's not. And Booger Mcfarland of all people had a great explanation on all of this. Brees has already given millions. That doesn't mean anything if you don't mean it.

Again, it's like saying "I'm not racist, I have black friends." You can give and be disingenuous about it. I'm not saying that's the case for Brees but it also doesnt just exonerate him.

That’s a two way street bub. Maybe, just maybe, they could talk to him to see why he feels this way instead of melting like teenage girls on the Internet.

They don’t like it, that’s fine. Try to talk it out like men first. Instead of reacting publicly to play to the crowd.

I've linked you this MSU study that disputes the media narrative in another thread.
MSU
quote:

By connecting the findings of police officer race, victim race and crime rates, the research suggests that the best way to understand police shootings isn’t racial bias of the police officer; rather, by the exposure to police officers through crime.
