I’m not trying to embarrass you, but how can you suggest the market spoke with regards to a dollar figure when you exclude the 1st round price on top of the contract? The league is full of guys worth 10M a year, but not 10m plus losing my 1st round pick.

Because he was restricted. That is how the market works under that designation.

And no one was willing to pay it.

The Saints had no reason to move off of that figure. That is the bargaining agreement the players negotiated.

He was the best player on the field for the Saints in the playoff loss.

The cost of getting him locked up on a longer term contract was the reason to move off of the number. It also creates cap flexibility and if the saints wanted to get from under it, the structure allows.

You still haven’t addressed how you can state what his value was on the open market when you don’t take into account a 1st round pick. Do you honestly think Taysom doesn’t get more than 4.6M on the open market without a team surrendering a 1st round pick?

Because he got the job at the expense of a black man that has the same stats as Peyton Manning.

Winston is shite on constantly and has become a running joke. Many other bad QBs as well

Does anyone really hate Hill or is he just getting bad QB treatment ?

He’s a handsome white Christian male so he has very little in common with any of the media or many of the players. Tons of resentment. Same thing that happened to Timmy T.

Sure. Nothing to do with the fact that if his first read is covered he takes a sack 90% of the time.

That doesn’t make it any better.

At all.

That’s not how contracts have ever worked.

‘Open market’ are your words. I specifically called him what he was. A restricted free agent.

At the end of the day, under the CBA, $4.6mil was his market value. He wasn’t touched, and couldn’t be touched. He was the Saints property at that price.

It doesn’t matter what his value is on the open market. Completely irrelevant.

Nah, Timmy's main issue was that he sucked and should've never been a first round draft pick. And Taysom needs to pick it up because he's not looking too good either.
