For the record, I have no delusions that Hill will be the future for the Saints or even that he’ll play great today.

However, the dislike for him and his situation by national NFL media and NFL Twitter is beyond absurd.

He’s shite on because Sean Payton hypes him up. He’s shite on because he got a contract extension, even by people who are always pro player “securing the bag”. He’s shite on for even stepping on the field.

Why? He should be celebrated for overcoming FOUR(4) major injuries, being an UDFA, and being cut by GB.

Teddy started over the white guy last year but I’m sure Payton is still a racist and not trying to see what taysom can do in a game as full time starter. We know what 30/30 crab legs can do.

People enjoy being right, and every historical piece of data says that he is not a thing.

So its a whole lotta Data vs Sean Payton

Plus the Saints paid him a contract that he did not earn. There are a lot of little subplots to this

Dude balled out in the playoffs and he will Ball Out today, its Taysom Time! All he does is make Plays, why would you doubt that today?

I get the analytics. But it seems personal with Taysom. There’s no debate that he’s at least fun to watch(when it’s working) and he’s a good dude.

I don’t think it’s him, it’s Payton & the team’s actions imo

The last QB to get this much hate was Tebow.

They are very similar.

For what he provides outside of the QB position he was worth his contract. People keep acting like the saints paid him to be a backup QB. They paid him for his value in doing everything.

I would love nothing more than a coming out party for Taysom against the falcons

You are worth what the market will pay you.

He played well at many different roles on the field and the Saints valued that enough to give him a contract for what they thought he was worth.

He earned it in their eyes and for him, that's all that matters.

I can’t believe any Saints fan wouldn’t be excited to finally see Taysom start a whole game.

I want to see what Jameis has too, but, Hills been here 3 years and I don’t think Payton was giving lip service that he likes him. You paid him 16M for this exact reason to see if he’s a post Brees option.

Under the rules of the CBA, they had him on the hook for $4.6mil & that was a perfectly fair amount

The contract they have him was not indicative of his value. There is absolutely no way to make an argument for that.

He went through restricted free agency and NO ONE offered him a contract.

The Saints had him at $4.6mil

That was his market

We’ve seen what Jameis had for 5 years in Tampa. The hate for Hill is crazy! Everyone says “he can’t play QB in this league” umm Lamar Jackson plays QB in this league.

He’s one of, if not the most versatile players in the game today and has been effective (read: game chanting at times) at multiple positions on offense and ST. Nearly beat the Vikings by himself last season while the rest of the team sucked.

The market paid him, so he’s worth it. Not saying he’s the next franchise QB, but Taysom is absolutely an important piece of this puzzle

That’s an unfair statement. His market was 4.6m and a 1st round pick, going into a season where the salary cap was going to take a hit and draft picks are even more valuable because of the talent cost acquisition.

To say a team wouldn’t have paid more than 4.6m is disingenuous if you don’t take into account the 1st round tender.
