On the radio in DC is the source redskins are looking for veteran corner. Lewis name poped up and they said they would have to give a third and garcon to land him. But then they mention two more names for a veteran that they are looking at. They are interested but don't know if saints are.

The second name is Drew Brees, not so much this year but in 2016

Of all the names being thrown around, this one is the dumbest. Drew will probably get extended to help with the cap issue, #1. Then look at the Peyton Manning effect. At that point, Drew's gotta look at who gives him the best opportunity to win. The door was closed in Indy for Peyton. Barring CSP leaving, the door wont be closed in New Orleans, and I don't consider any of the moves the Saints are making to be "Give up and start over". I don't believe its just about the money. The teams that could afford to come in and give him an absurd contract are probably not going to be contenders. You think Drew wants to go finish his career with the Raiders? Jags?

Just doesnt make sense to me.

i really dont get your hate for Loomis. is it based on the perceived cap hell each year?

when making these contracts we couldve let players walk or you have to sign them to big deals. we backed loaded a lot so we could keep a lot of our core guys together and try to make a run. now we have to unload/restructure some of those deals.

so either option, a player will end up eventually walking or restructuring. this year we have actually gotten a lot of return for our "cap woes." i honestly dont see where your disdain for the guy comes from, but it pops up in nearly every thread concerning Loomis.

Houston could be a potential contender with a QB, plus it's close to home. That's the only team I could think of that makes sense both money and winning wise. Maybe Denver since Manning will almost certainly be retired at that point.

But no, I can't imagine he finishes his career with some shite team for an extra $10m over 3 years.

I think Vaccaro or Bush for sure.

Vaccaro has more value, i think we could get a second for him. Some team is going to focus on his age, rookie season and rookie contract and pay up.

If the rumors posted on here are true, and Drew had input on some of these moves, what other team gives him that level of authority?

Compared to what other teams are having to pay QBs, were still getting Drew for a bargain. And if we can get through this without having to restructure, it only helps the team in the long run. Ideally we get Drew extended with him having the retirement discussions with Payton/Loomis so they can draft a younger guy that Drew can help groom. Then we make the transition with a guy in the system that's had teaching from two pretty awesome people.

The Saints seem to be clearly positioning themselves for 2016. Moving Brees just doesn't make much sense.

Dont read to much into it. He just goes against the grain of popular belief. Only way to stand out in a crowd and seem relevant when you have nothing else to hang your hat on.

I would want numerous 1st round picks to let go of Brees. Management can't be that dumb.

As for Vaccaro? Just pisses me off we wasted the pick just to trade him, but whatever, cull the picks we have made over the years

I'd take a 2nd rounder for Vacarro all day. I guess a 3rd would be enough...kind of close though.

I would probably have multiple orgasms if we landed either Cruz or JPP

In his second year, with the 5th year option...I think it would take way too much for us to handle. By us, I mean fans. We would shite a brick to see what it would take to get him.

Jordan makes the most sense (granted I am ignorant of the cap nuances)

He makes a lot of money
he didn't perform last year
spags is in NY and has familiarity with him
they missed tuck opposite JPP last year and don't have JPP even signed
cam is a 4-3 DE
