54/76 for 543 yards passing 2 td/1int
176 yards rushing 4 tds
5 fumbles/2 lost-9 fumbles on the year (7 in last 4 games)

Per game stats are 18/25 for 181 yards passing .6 tds/.3 int
58 yards rushing 1.3 rush td per 1.6 fumbles/gm

I thought he played ok yesterday. There was again some really good stuff followed by some really really awful stuff. It’s hard to argue with actual numbers regardless of what side you stand.

He played great but the two fumbles are inexcusable. That has to be cleaned up or it’s going to bite us in the arse whether he’s starting or just coming in to mix things up.

Big problem with the fumbles was the lack if situational awareness. You have to know before the snap when it's OK to take a sack and when you need to take a risk and make something happen.

Second one he should have wrapped up the ball in both arms.

Against a better team, those mistakes are fatal. But he played really well as a passer yesterday.

Or throw it away...

I think experience will get him there.

Probably would have made more sense to use LM/Kamara on 1st and goal to run clock and seal the game..

If we can wipe the fumbles off the board he’s been great and done everything else well enough in my opinion. Has to take care of the football better!

Payton showed his kahonas though calling another QB run immediately after Taysom fumbling the ball out of bounds. Was handing the ball off to Murray on that specific play too much of a pride hurter lol?

I don’t agree that he played “great”. I mean that’s a massive stretch imo. But depending what you see him as long term i believe gives you that opinion. If you see him as a backup and Swiss Army knife of this team or the “future. I’d say he played well for a backup qb. For a future starter for this team I’d say his play has been pretty below avg. The numbers will tell you the same.

Taysom's OVERALL play I would have to say has been just average, which is FANTASTIC for a BACKUP QB making his FIRST 3 CAREER STARTS!

1st Falcons game: Subpar 1st half, pretty good 2nd half
Broncos game: Bad game all around
Falcons game: Good game passing & running, but 2 more fumbles.
We cannot dismiss fumbles, if you dismiss his fumbles then you might as well dismiss Jamies INTs when making argument for who should be playing

This was Taysom's most impressive game thus far, nice to see him bounce back from the horrible game against Denver, though we have to remember ATLs pass D is horrible so Taysom should do well against them.

Regardless, 3-0, and both his passing and running has greatly contributed to our wins. You cannot be mad at that. But he definitely does have to work on his situational awareness and ball security

He has to clean the fumbles up. Saints could have put that game away if they score and go up 28-9

His stats are kind of skewed bc he hasn’t had to do a whole lot with our defense playing lights out. Which is great bc we would rather him not be in a position where he had to go win a game for us. I was very encouraged by his passing yesterday except for one pass to Mike thomas that should have been picked. Don’t discount Atlanta’s defense too much they are playing a lot better in the second half of the season. I am not saying he is the answer but he has done a better job than I expected. We left some points off the board yesterday that we should have had. Really shouldn’t have been that close. Need to protect the ball for sure.

I think the only thing that’s impressed me has been his ability to go through progressions. He’s still slow reading the defense but his accuracy has been a pleasant surprise. But I’m not sugar coating my opinion because it’s about our team. His numbers show a below avg qb. He threw way more than 3 bad passes yesterday. Dude should of had 3 passes legit picked off alone. He is really struggling getting the ball to Murray and Kamara out of the backfield. He’s done exactly what we have needed him to in order to win games. But we have played horrible teams the last 3 weeks. I mean truly awful. But you’re right. Our defense is just straight up nasty. But if we’re talking future, i don’t think having a guy play good enough to win games because our defense is just so good is what we’re actually looking for. At least i hope not.

I agree with you and to be fair my expectations were really low considering what we had seen from him prior but the stats themselves don’t bother me at all bc of how the games played out. We also have to remember that this is his first time since college he is playing full time qb. I wouldn’t mind giving him a full year next year and see what he can do. Would give us a chance to sign some of our players and give him true audition. Then draft a guy the following year based on that

I think that’s probably the plan. They will either draft a guy this year or resign Winston to give him some competition and draft a qb the year after. We will have a decent amount of draft capital and not a lot of positions if need. If they’re gonna move up then the time is coming.

You posted this yesterday:

The guy was horrible today.

And then you called everyone who disagreed with that all kinds of names and said if anyone disagreed with you then they were swallowing Taysom Hill's loads

Yeah, for a “backup” he played ok. For a starter he played pretty terrible. The first half was legit a decent half of football. The second half was just horrible to go along with horrible decision making and ball security. So like i said, pending how you look at him gives you your description of him. But I’m sorry if avg 180 yards passing a game and 50 yards rushing with less than 1 td passing a game and more fumbles than any tds is good or even ok for you. In reality based off of actual facts and numbers it is really bad. Especially considering what era we are in in the nfl. But yes, the people who just ignore the facts and make excuses are the legit taysom dik suckers. Take opinion out of it. Look at the #s. They’re just not good

Add in the almost 3 other interceptions (2 on deep balls where Sanders saved his arse big time and 1 near the goalline that a LB just dropped when it hit him dead in the hands).

Overall you can say he's playing so so as a QB, which is better than I expected.

But that is 3 turnovers in 3 games, with another potential 6 that we lucked out on. That is WAY too high a number.

Passing is much better than I expected. The running is awesome as always. Just need to work on decision making and ball security.

Hell, 24-9 would’ve done it too

Well no actually. A FG would’ve put us up only 15. We’re still sweating those last two drives bc a TD and 2 point conversion ties it.

Yeah that's true but I would've felt much better in that position than with what we had... plus if Taysom doesn't give up posession there, two more plays knock a bunch more time off the clock, so maybe that last desperate attempt never even happens...

The two issues I have with taysom is his slow passing windup and the gd fumbles. Drive killers when he puts it on the ground.

The other thing like not taking the sack/throwing it away is experience, can't entirely fault him for that... But he should know better
