Cam is awful on the field.

You can always tell the dumbasses who only look at a stat sheet to form opinions. Cam had very, very good push on a number of plays today. Here’s a news flash for you. If you get good push and force a QB to either check it down or leave the pocket, you did a good job even if it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. Cam as a dominant DE is over. Cam as a contributor, particularly at DT, is not.

In short, he’s washed

Love Cam, but he looked done last year. Maybe you can get some juice out of him as a 3rd down passing specialist on the interior. Hes definitely not running anything down on the edge anymore.

On a side note, how bad is Turner and Fosky where they can’t even get in the game.

This. He doesn’t have to light up the stat sheet to be very important to the team.

He has experience , leadership that can't be matched. Helps defense with alignment. Seen just about every offense.
Also frees up for other players to get after QB.

He is not a liability yet, so fine playing him and earning that money he would still be making sitting on the bench.

He should have retired already and the Saints should have had Hendrickson

Don't blame that on Cam. Losing Hendrickson was all about the sunken costs in Marcus Davenport.

Very underrated part of his game.

Stats only allow the casual fans to follow the game and look for obvious plays made... Cam and Chase doing a helluva jobs this year... just ain't showing up in the box score

I think Cam was past his prime the past 2 years and he's probably washed now.

The year is still young at least. But he has picked up where he left off last year...washed. Third down packages perhaps.

is he still playing DE, or did they shift him to a DT? I thought they moved him to DT - don't recall him playing that position much, so maybe he is getting acclimated to it.

he may be washed, as you say, but he brings so much more to the team than just on the field performance.
