Success stories of inside house promotion to HC?

Well, most new coaches come after fired coaches on losing rosters...we are neither of these

Yeah.
He was the dc of the vikings.
I do like raheem morris as a head coach. Think he will do good somewhere.
Saints almost have to go with an offensive coach.

Mike Martz was retained when Dick Vermile retired.
Mike Singletary was kept when Mike Nolan was fired.
Ray Rhodes and Mike Sherman followed Mike Holmgren.
George Seifert followed Bill Walsh.

George Seifert with the 49ers. If memory serves he won two Super Bowls after Walsh retired .
