New Orleans Saints icon Steve Gleason has checked himself into a hospital.
Gleason announced on Twitter Friday that he was going to an emergency room for the first time in three or four years.
Poor guy. I think I would pray for pneumonia to take me.
God bless him.
"I've had relentless hiccups for 5-6 days, and they think it may be developing early signs of pneumonia," Gleason wrote. He also expressed "gratitude for my team."
Gleason is revered by Saints fans and New Orleaneans in general for providing the city and the team a sign of rebirth following Hurricane Katrina. Gleason, a safety for the Saints, blocked an Atlanta Falcons punt in the first game back in the Superdome after Katrina, leading to the Saints first score of the 2006 season. He retired from the NFL in 2008. In 2011, Gleason announced he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Your mind is poisoned. I pity you.
ETA: downvoters, if your first thought to a story about Gleason in the hospital is about the murder rate of a city you don’t live in…then yes your mind is poisoned. Unplug.

Damn. This will forever be for me one of those - I remember exactly where I was at and what happened moments.

It's going to be a sad day when gleason passes away.

That shite gets to me after 5 mins.

Gosh I honestly didn't mean it that way but I understand your objection to my post.
I love Steve. I honestly do have a Mitchell & Ness jersey of his and a couple more tees from his personal store.
