Saints’ left guard Andrus Peat struggled Sunday, but there’s a reason for it. Hunt broke his hand in Saints’ final regular-season game, underwent surgery during the bye week, then played Sunday vs. Eagles through serious pain, per source.

Still bummed we couldn't rest him against Carolina

You could tell. Peat is a damn good Guard, that wasn't him.

They really should have considered just starting Tom or Clapp and only played Peat if the backup was getting totally abused.

Ugh.... that's rough. I wonder what that means for next week.

Wow. What a monster.

It won’t feel much better but maybe a little rest will help alleviate some of the pain

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to slide Bushrod in there at LG (he’s played it before) if Peat starts struggling again

We got through the season pretty injury free but now were just getting wrecked at key positions the last few weeks.

Especially with suh and Donald. We can’t afford that kind of play again

Just no reason for him to be in that Panthers game. NONE! This is exactly why Brees and others didn't play because things like this happen.

If able to get through Rams, those following 2 weeks will benefit Armstead and Peat tremendously.

Injuries usually explain sudden poor play by solidly performing players.

Thank you Peat for playing through the pain.

Sigh, it was pretty obvious when it happened it was either a hurt thumb/wrist/hand something serious.

I agree that playing him against Carolina was dumb. Most people disagree and say "We had to play someone?"

Why? The backup OL guys played most of the game anyway after he was hurt. Oh well. He's tough.

Not sure if it will get much better this week. Need to get Tom ready to play if he struggles again.

Get the man some better drugs.

In all seriousness Peat’s desire to play through that is phenomenal. This team is driven and I really hope it pays off for them with another Lombardi.
