I love the Davenport and Smith picks. Davenport is a bit raw but if he can develop quickly and take pressure off of Jordan, this line could be elite. Smith was the BPA at the time. I didn’t feel we needed a WR but his size and measurables are undeniable.

Don’t really get the Leonard pick at that spot. I think we reached a bit. He’s got some great measurables, but his combine analysis didn’t measure up to that spot.

I’ll be honest, I really don’t have an opinion on the Jamerson and Moore picks. It’s one of those ‘trust the staff’ things.

I don’t like the Scott pick. I didn’t feel we needed an RB3 because Lasco filled that spot nicely. I don’t get the pick.

I loved the Clapp pick. Not because of LSU but he’s a utility OL player who can give us depth at both G and C. He fills a depth need and is essentially 2 players for the price of 1. Great pick and value there.

Overall, I’d give us a solid B. We addressed most of our needs, but we drafted based on potential rather than finished products...

Scott is a way better athlete and RB than Lasco. Huge upgrade at 3rd RB spot

Scott is not a waay better athlete and RB than Lasco. Lol Lasco is a former Pac 12 player that has had his struggles with the Saints first from constant nagging injuries, and now it just seems to be confidence issues, but he is a superb special teams player and that's all he's needed for right now. But he had great production in college both rushing and receiving, and I thought he would do the same with the Saints, it just hasn't happened.

Ok way better might be overdoing it as Lasco is still an NFL RB, and I’m not knocking Lasco or Edmonds. I really do feel like Boston Scott will be much more productive than either of those 2.

because Lasco filled that spot nicely

10 games (only 3 last year with no rushing/receiving stats)
11 carries
32 yards
2.9 ypc
2 catches
11 yards

That's far from filling the #3 spot nicely.

I'm not anti Lasco but one of the knocks on him was he couldn't stay healthy, and he hasn't stayed healthy.

He was a pretty good #4 when healthy on special teams. I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him one more year.

Lasco being on our game day roster is embarrassing. He’s not good.

I've watched Boston Scott though at Tech and kid can run, he's a lil fire hydrant of a RB at 5'6-203 pounds. Lol That's solid, those types are real hard to bring down, real low center of gravity and he's got good shiftyness, so I can see him making the Saints.

Lasco plays hard and is a good special teams player but he has very bad vision and no patience. He’s fast but doesn’t appear to be able to make many people miss. Definitely wouldn’t mind an upgrade.

Pretty much this, he’s not bad, especially for a 3 or 4th RB. I like him and he’s good on special teams but I feel like Scott will bring even more for special teams. Obviously if Kamara or Ingram go down there would be a drop off, but I think the train can keep rolling with Scott, not with Lasco if forced in to be a main RB

Lasco is just one of those guys that people have decided to like based on nothing.

I’m gonna do a full write up probably when I get to a computer but in summary I:

Really like Smith and Scott
Like Clapp and Davenport
Alright on Jamerson and Moore
Don’t like Leonard

This class has a very good chance of being an exceptional class that could come close to 2017.

Unfortunately we won’t see much, if any, impact in 2018

I feel like I said the same thing before the 09 season. Look, there aren't a whole lot of position groups where you're going to immediately get better in the draft. With what's left of the team from last year, what we picked up in FA, and what we will have returning from IR, there are only a few positions where you can actually draft a player that may be better than a current starter. As far as depth goes, I feel like we did improve a bit. That's all you can really ask for.

I would have liked to grab a TE, but we missed out. Other than that, I just hope we can get a starter and 2 or 3 contributors. Even if we drafted as well as last year, I don't think this class would have the same impact. We're just that close.

Scott, especially if he can give us something on ST, is a vast improvement over Lasco
