This isn’t much of an arguement on your part….this place will flip back and forth on their opinion for whoever gets a win….

Congrats I guess on your impress internet win. Winston had/has more upside. In his prime Dalton was a decent QB that could get you to the playoffs and go 0-1. Now he’s old and passed his prime so at best a stop gap for 1 year.

What you should be pissed about is all the over-reactionary trades costing valuable draft picks. Yay we got Olave at a cost of 2 1s. You could have gotten Pickens in the 2nd and still had next years 1. Where you could draft a QB and if you’re gonna give up future picks, that’s the position to do it for, not a WR or oft injured DL from non P5 programs.

Here's your attention. Cool, you got something right, guess it was a matter of time after posting on the board for almost 4 years.

Lol. I’ve gotten plenty right on here. I said over and over we needed to draft Jefferson when 90% of the board was crying for Queen. I can bump the draft threads if you like. Was told receiver was not a need lol.

Also thought Payton Turner was a major reach and would not have drafted him. And said we would really regret not resigning Williams and Kwon this off-season. Also didn’t think honey Badger was a good signing because of his age and size. Of course none of these opinions were popular at the time but all proved correct.

I liked the Maye signing but he needs to be playing strong safety and closer to the box and not deep safety.

See, no idea what you're talking about. Winston's cap hit is $4M.

I don’t care what his cap hit is. Is he not getting 21 million guaranteed over the next two years?

I said in the off-season we needed to get our cap issues fixed and we should sign one of Bridgewater, Dalton, or trade for Minshew or even resign Winston and offer up the starting job but only pay them 3-5 million a year with some incentives and keep the defense built up and get our cap mess under control. Whatever qb that wants the job on a one year prove it deal for peanuts is who we roll with.

Jfc imagine watching Dalton play and actually posting this.

1-3 and the only reason we won was because Taysom carried the offense.

Well that is more important than this…

Both numbers are relatively small.

Based on what I’ve seen so far I’m not sure. And Dalton is not even close to as good as a healthy Winston.

Who wants to entertain an argument over who's the worse QB out of the worse QB's in the league

I was kinda hoping Winston woukd start this week so we could put this to rest. Both starting receivers out. Defense still injured and likely to play like crap. Get to see how many points he puts up. See if he puts up more than the 17 he averaged when he first started the year playing with all 3 starting receivers.

Get to see Winston trying to play behind. Will likely look like the Tampa game in the 2nd half.

Winston will average over 10-11 million a year the next two years. What was did Marcus get paid? I’m sure less than what Winston and honey Badger together will make the next two years…..

You may not care about his cap number this year, but that 21 million will be against the cap eventually b/c it’s guaranteed. So it will just screw up next year and the year after if they move on from him at the end of the season…..

Really depends on what Loomis does with him. If this team continues to roll with Dalton this year, I would expect them to cut Winston and eat the $11.2M cap hit. If Winston gets back in the starting role and does well, I expect them to turn that $12.8M base salary next year into a bonus and give him an extension.

Either way, when has Loomis not made a decision because of "next year's cap"? I truly believe they felt they could keep striking gold in the secondary and would be better off without Williams. It is ironic with our current injury situation that the board is talking about how much this defense needs Marcus, and he's on IR. He would have fit right in staying put

75% of the board was saying that. We needed to rip the band aid off, have a few bad years to let the cap work itself out and rebuild through the draft. Then they tried to go all in for Watson (which most agreed with), and when that failed should have tucked their tails in and let the cap get fixed. Now that they traded away next year's first (and the state of the conference), they need to continue making a push so they don't look completely foolish

Winston is a FA after 2023.

Marcus has a 2023 cap hit of $7.8M, then it jumps to $18.7M in 2024 & 2025, then $20.7M in 2026

True. Many will disagree but teams just don't tank when a division title and playoffs are in reach. And we all know that a losing record may win this crappy division. So barring those rare just "can't turn down" deals for a player we ride as is to the end of the year.

Again, we have 12 years of film on Dalton. He hasn't been able to regain a starting job since Cinncy. If you think this guy is the answer, you don't know the question. He is not better than a healthy Winston. Never was.
