So 90% of ST hates the Carr addition?

Could you 90% help the other 10% of us understand what our other (better) options would be?
And don’t tell me drafting Hendon Hooker would be better. That’d be beyond speculative at this point.

I love the signing…considering the circumstances
-The team is going to try to win. We KNOW they aren’t going to try to rebuild/go for high picks
-The roster is decent to good, but has a huge hole at QB
-They have never shown they can develop young QBs
When you consider all of this together, Carr is probably the best realistic option. We can’t afford Rodgers or Jackson. They aren’t going to rely on a rookie, and even if they did, they likely couldn’t develop him. They aren’t going to tank, so we won’t end up with a pick that can get us Maye or Williams without giving up a ton. So the best option is they get Carr and likely compete in a bad division.

There are none to rely on. this is a terrible qb draft class and next year wont be much better.

Its pretty simple. The Saints had two choices.
Continue the "win now" model of the last 15 years...
or shift to a clean up the roster, get some cap room, stack pics and look for a future QB.
"win now" won and Carr seems the best option for that.
Just wasn't my option

Carr isn't terrible but the 4 year deal with $100M guaranteed is bs. We don't know if he had a bad year due to Josh McDaniels or if he's declining. Its a risk.

The more SFP melts about it, the more I like it tbh
Call me what you want, but I’d love to see that smug prick eat his words

I too would prefer they reset and rebuild for the long term, but considering the rumors they’re worried about turning a profit, plus the coaches likely feeling their jobs are on the line, don’t blame them for trying to win. And Carr is by far the best realistic option if they’re trying to win.

I can explain it clearly. This fan base has seen greatness. We know what a great quarterback is supposed to look like. We expect our QB to be the reason we win. We do not want to get the next Jared Goff. We want to win Super Bowls. There are many of us who believe Carr is not the guy because he has not shown anything to this point that shows he has the ability to be more than mediocre. I get it Saints fans. Carr is better than the other QBs in our division for now (at least we think he is). I would have preferred drafting a QB each year until we struck greatness. We can still do that and I hope we do. So to the 10 percent that are pumped about the next Aaron Brooks - I hope he is better than we know he is.

No. Just the 15 or so ppl that disapprove and melting in n every thread. I think most people here are excited about it.

I like the pick up, the money is the going rate these days, so it really don’t bother me because it’s not my money anyway. I think he will come in and instantly make us a playoff contender, which is what teams strive for…will be great entertainment

Without a doubt means that this was an absolute home run signing. 90% of this board (honestly more like 100%) is completely retarded.
The downvotes proving me right. Again.

The people that don't like the Carr option also think the Saints should tank. Not considering that the FO/Staff have to win to keep their jobs and know they can't afford a tank job. Not to mention the roster is too damn good to tank.
