Mason Graham if he is there. If not Jalon Walker.
We need to beef up both sides of the line (Don't tell me Godchaux is the total answer). We need a pass rush. Good WR will be available in 2nd and a solid starter at guard will be available in third at either pick. I also think we need another RB. A great pass rush makes your CBs better.
The restructure means a trade can't happen because all the money pushed forward would go into this year. Carr is going no where.
First there is no way to stick with Carr without extending his contract and pushing the cap hit into future years. We are 47 million over the cap and there are no solutions that get you under the cap without 1) a restructure 2)Trade (who wants to pay him that much) 3) Cut with post June 1 designation
The saints say they are keeping him so either they are posturing hoping a team will trade for him (and they plan on cutting him if not) or they will restructure and push it forward (which is the Saints solution to everything). This is the most likely scenario and the one that keeps you mediocre.
You can never get enough Boobie.
All boobies that are primo are expensive.
there are many on this board that can attest to that.
Mason Smith got blocked by everyone he went against. He could measure as the best athlete at the combine and still go undrafted.
Got roasted on this board when I said we should not sign him and that it would be a huge mistake. It is like Loomis and this board has not watched him play. We paid a fortune for a mediocre at best QB. Bucs fared better by not paying top dollar and signing a mediocre QB.
Tried to tell Saints homers this in a post over the summer. He is a mediocre QB on his best day. We have seen greatness and this is not it. Great QBs throw people open. Where are the back shoulder throws? We would have been better off sticking anyine in there that did not burden us with the cap and drafting a QB next year in the year of the QB.

LSU can fix the traffic problem. I have been to stadiums all over the SEC. Ole Miss handles it best. They have shuttles that take people to the outer lots. If LSU wanted to they could fix the problem. They could have large number of buses that shuttle people. Shuttles could go from the stadium to Tigerland, Cow palace, Lod Cook, and possibly hotels on College. The key to making the traffic problem go away is getting people off campus en masse faster. They will never spend the money.
No we can't compete with Texas or A&M as far as paying recruits. Never will. Give up on the pipe dream of thinking that you can! Instead you have to be smarter. Texas and A&M can't pay everyone. In my opinion, talent evaluation, coaching and development are the keys to success in this new era. Every year the NFL drafts players from all across the country and they are not Longhorns or Aggies. We need to invest in our player evaluation department. We need to be like the NFL and find the best players that fit our system either in high school or on other teams. There are more than enough stellar athletes to field a great team. The prima donnas can be beat!

He is a well respected coach with little to no experience calling defensive plays on his own at a professional level. I believe that if given the right personnel he will thrive. I have less faith the front office is good enough to provide the talent needed through the draft.
Used to own an insulation company.
The best under home insulation is closed cell spray foam at least 2 inches. Closed cell foam is waterproof. Make sure underneath of home is under 15 on a moisture meter before spraying. Closed cell will insulate the pipes and seal the underside. It will prevent moisture issues. You can then paint it or cover it.
One reason - President Kamala Harris
The new way to ensure you don't get impeached is to make your VP horrible.
I can explain it clearly. This fan base has seen greatness. We know what a great quarterback is supposed to look like. We expect our QB to be the reason we win. We do not want to get the next Jared Goff. We want to win Super Bowls. There are many of us who believe Carr is not the guy because he has not shown anything to this point that shows he has the ability to be more than mediocre. I get it Saints fans. Carr is better than the other QBs in our division for now (at least we think he is). I would have preferred drafting a QB each year until we struck greatness. We can still do that and I hope we do. So to the 10 percent that are pumped about the next Aaron Brooks - I hope he is better than we know he is.
I keep reading how he is mocked to go in the top 10. Last year Willis was mocked in the top 10 along with Ridder. Mock drafts do not mean anything. It would not surprise me if Richardson goes in the 3rd or 4th round. That is what the tape says. People keep saying you have to take him because his is so athletic. Well the tape shows he is athletic. It also shows him throwing to the other team way to often.

I agree with Saint EB's assessment. The defense is too good, the Saints personnel dept to good, and the division is too bad to finish in top 5. I still think avoiding the high cost free agent QB for one year is the way to go. It will put us in a better position next year to not have to add voidable years. Some of these players that have voidable years added will have performance decline and we will be sitting on more dead money. We need to bite the bullet for a year IMO. That was the point of the post.

Is it likely that Loomis and company do this - NO. Probably Hell no. I still think this is the prudent move for the long term.

I never stated there were no good QBS drafted after the top 10. I said most of the current top QBS were drafted in the top 10. Since we will not likely be in the top 10 we will need to try our luck drafting a sleeper. Hooker could be the answer. Maybe Richardson falls. regardless - AVOID the free agent QB unless you are looking for a back up like Bridgewater.

I think Drew was the rare exception. He was hurt and his team had a 1st round investment in a QB which is why they moved on. I do not see that this year. The raiders moved on and don't have a QB. Drew was also a young player. I do not think this free agent class has any hall of fame QBS in it.

"Top 10:

Lawerence
Z Wilson
Lance

Burrow
Tua
Hebert

Murray
D Jones

Baker
Darnold
J Allen
Josh Rosen

Trubisky
Mahomes

Goff
Wentz

Winston
Mariota

5 out of 18 since 2015 considered Studs. Not a good track record and definitely not "most"."

I said most of the top QBS were drafted in the top 10 not all QBS drafted in the top 10 were locks to be all pro. True most starting NFL QBS were not drafted in the top 10. Most of the ones drafted outside the top 10 are mediocre with a few exceptions. If you look at the QB position as a whole - low number of hits versus misses.

I still think we need to draft a QB outside the top 10 because there are no assurances we will ever be in the top 10. Can we get under the cap. Sure we can restructure contracts and add voidable years and keep having this conversation. My point which many seem to miss is - NO free agent QB is leading us to the Super Bowl. so why spend the money. Instead draft QBs until you hit on one and ride Taysom. He is not the permanent solution but neither are any free agents.
