if you are talking about the greatest of all time QB's there is more than just the guys you mentioned.

Montana, Marino, and Elway were all QB gods when I was growing up.

quote:

Thirdly, Brees will retire owning most of the passing records, and has a Super Bowl; which players like Marino and Kelly (still remembered today) could never achieve.

I'm proud that he will do that. There will always be the crowd that says "well the league protects the QB heavily now". They do but some of the throws that the top QB's make today are just as impressive as any I've seen.

and if people want to punish Brees because he broke the record in an era that is QB friendly well then that is just stupid. The bulk of his numbers were put up before the NFL decided to put a red jersey on the QB so-to-speak.

frick'em.

Drew Brees is the man!

Did he insult Malone's status in basketball, or was it more of a comment where the media in general overlooked both nearly their entire careers?

Because that's actually an incredibly good comparison. Both are some of the greatest ever in their sport, but both are constantly ignored in the media because they always talk about XYZ instead.

Actually it is a good comparison, they are great HOF players that put up mind boggling stats in their careers, but their careers are or were in Malones case overshadowed by much more recognized star players. And Karl Malone would really have a championship or two if he didn't play in the era of a buzzsaw called Michael Jordan. lol

I actually listen to that show and Sharpe's opinions and wit is much better to me anyways than loudmouth Stephen A with all his damn shite hollering.

It’s really not that bad of a comparison, it is insane the guy is going to own most of the major passing statistical records and been as largely unheralded as he’s been. shite maybe that’ll just be his legacy.

Erasing the ineptitude of a combined 3 professional sports franchises over such a long period of time trumps bringing the Saints their first SB, and this is coming from a Saints fan.

I hear you.

but Drew is on his way to the Hall of Fame and lead the Saints to a Championship that I don't think any of us ever imagined possible.

part of the reason I'm ticked off about football now in general is b/c Brees is getting up there in age and I don't want to see him go.

A-aron Rodgers has exactly the same amount of Super Bowl wins that Drew Brees does and less the all time records. A-aron...Why do people keep saying that he's the greatest?

3) I’d really like to see a Karl v Shannon fight. I’d put money on Karl because it doesn’t get much meaner than a guy from Summerfield. He wouldn’t even need DDP as backup.

I forgot all about this

Unfortunately he's not wrong. Brees is one of if not the greatest to play the position. He holds a ton of passing records, took a franchise nobody ever thought would go to a Super Bowl and won it and is still insanely dangerous and accurate at 39.....and everyone still only talks about Rodgers, Brady and Manning. It's a sad truth. All we can do is watch and appreciate him while he still plays the game.

Because he'd rather take sacks, which is why he's always banged up.
