This word gets applied to good black players about as often as “his motor never stops” gets applied to good white players.

That and "he's sneaky fast"
I mean, to be fair to your neighbor - a majority of people likely don't follow or care about the Falcons that much so i wouldn't hold that one against him, but your point still stands

He didn’t say he didn’t like it, just said technique is raw and needs to be coached up?

And really, weren't they saying the same thing about Armstead when he was initially drafted?

Payton could pull out a gun, shoot the opposing coach in the face, Payton arrested, game is forfeited, and saints fans would still find a way to blame the refs.

I mean, to be fair, the NFL refs probably wouldn't see the problem with that happening in front of their face either...
Looks like he took his notes for transitioning to the booth from Jason Witten
Reading the article, it looks like the 'better talent' comment might have been particularly talking about the WR corps (which to be fair, wasn't our strongest suit the last few years beyond Thomas/Sanders):
quote:

“When you have a high-powered offense and guys with the talent to make your offense high-powered, I think there are a lot of questions in the air about how well we will be. That’s always going to be a question, but seeing the talent that we have at receiver, it’s just as good. We probably got better talent here than we had in New Orleans.
“Just seeing those guys – Mike (Williams) and Keenan – lining up all across the field in different formations,

splitting us out in different packages, I definitely think that this offense has what it takes to become a high-powered, prolific offense in the NFL.”

Still, frick that slippery-handed bastard.

Probably made him more appealing to the front office. :banghead:

Gotta be the most "let's take a chance on a project" team ever SMH

Yep. The whole George Floyd thing. Why was he allowed to dictate that he didn’t want to be in the police car? 20 years ago they would have wacked him over the head and brought him to jail

I know right? These priviliged criminals making demands!

This thread is like a bucket of good ol' boy chum. Hilarious :rotflmao:

everyone has said the N word in their lifetime. EVERY ONE.

How to say you're from the South without saying you're from the South
quote:

This is the way I look at it. I work for a company that is based in Baton Rouge, and I am from Eunice. Baton Rouge population is 221,599 and Eunice is 9,989.
If we had an opportunity for a management position and they had a rule stating that they had to interview candidates from Eunice or other smaller towns simply because we had a population of less than 10k, I'd take that as an insult because they are basically saying all those simple country Eunice folk know is how to farm rice & crawfish or work offshore.

While i don't disagree that notions like this and the Rooney rule are...ham-fisted executions of an idea at best, i guess it's notable that they are trying to address what is a sort of odd issue.

To your point: Using that same analogy - Say the company based in Baton Rouge had, for their entire 50+ year history, only really hired candidates from the local BR area (whether for convenience, proximity, cost - regardless) and had never even LOOKED in Eunice for candidates. Over those 5 decades, perhaps it wasn't the case that the higher-ups thought that people in Eunice were simple country folk - maybe they'd just always only been looking in BR because that's where they were located, they'd always had a supply of applicants, whatever the case - but could the assumption be made that they were hiring the best candidates in all of Louisiana even though they never looked in Eunice until they had a reason to do so?

Going a step further....without having a reason to do so, in that scenario, why would they even look to Eunice for candidates, when they had been finding managers just fine in BR for the last 50 years? That's kinda what the NFL is dealing with. This idea that when openings happen, searches automatically include ALL qualified candidates rather than orgs just looking in the same places they've looked before more or less for the last century or so.

Your choosing to take that kind of action as an insult speaks to being fortunate enough to not really have to worry about being overlooked under normal circumstances. While the NFL should be a meritocracy and the whole 'picks for blacks' thing has so many issues (like, is it all minorities? What if a coach is only like 1/6th Native American or something - does that count? But i digress ), it seems like they're trying to correct for a *systemic* issue, which is gonna lead to some dumb efforts nearly every time.
Are those their starting tackles that are out? That would be SOME help for our d-line...not like Mahomes needs a crapload of time in the pocket, but still.
Wow, must be a lot of current and former Saints on the board! Seems like a lot of comments about what the rest of their teammates are thinking/saying in the locker rooms...and so much of it about the cuckolding lifestyle and balls, no less

The vast majority of the players on the team share his politics. Yet he is the one getting called out way more. Maybe, just maybe, some of that has do with him playing horribly over the last 3 games?

Yeah damn the locker room...Jenkins has been toxic on the field. My black friends and my MAGA peeps are definitely finding common ground there.

At the very least if you're gonna be a flashpoint for the fans, then be a damn beast on the field.

He had Drew Brees for 14 years and only won one Super Bowl

Yeah, it really is a shame Drew hasn't been better on the defensive side of the ball all these years.
quote:

Drew is just a player now, hes afraid to talk to his team mate and correct them in case he's label a racist if he said the wrong thing or use the wrong tone.

So wait...you're saying that after 14 years with the team, he's all of a sudden afraid to call out coworkers now because a few folks got wound up about some random answer he gave to a question, even though presumably he's never had any problems doing it before?
:rotflmao:
Telling these receivers they're running bad routes and having shitty timing is FAR from being racist. I know the melt's already started after losing 2 straight, but cmon now. Some of yall are better than that.

Wondering what that limp was about

They showed on the replay...someone else was falling to the ground and his ankles got sorta rolled up, but it didn't look too too bad fortunately.

Sorry - #1 cuck is the moral voice of the republican party Jerry Falwell Jr. who likes watch his wife and the pool boy.

Lol right? That's like one of the few literal situations where the word fits.

And if Brees had just ran away with his tail between his legs and retired because some folks didn't agree with his view, wouldn't that have made him more of a snowflake than anything? ????
Only semi-related, but...
Why is it that some folks only reference points are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

Are they commentators on Fox News frequently or something?

Are they still even both alive?

I feel like i've literally almost never heard any of my black friends or people i know talk about them in the last decade or so.

Not trying to start anything, i'm genuinely curious since the person up there mentioned them out of nowhere

Lol did it shock you to learn Seinfeld's full name also?

As long as you're in the dance you have a chance. The playoff losses suck but it's better than the team sitting at home after week 17. Some of you must forget how it felt when we couldn't even sniff the playoffs.

Basically this.
While these last 3 seasons have been an entirely different kind of frustrating than watching the team go 7-9 repeatedly, it's been nice feeling relatively comfortable for the majority of the season that they'll make it to the playoffs in the first place.

(...now there's just the feeling like they'll get there and find some new and innovative way to get screwed over and/or make a crucial mistake at the last second :banghead:)
