Brisker went to the Bears one spot before the Saints

I also thought about that last night when thinking that Taylor can also play safety

And we were gonna take Reuben Foster in ‘17 if the 49ers hadn’t taken him 1 pick before. Vikings were probably all set to take Reagor 2 years ago, but had to settle for Jetts when the Eagles scooped him a pick earlier. shite happens. Just have to see how it plays out.

Ironic that we panic traded for Olave unnecessarily

You’ve quickly become the biggest a-hole posting on this board.

I think it’s almost a certainty. No time to trade back, so they took Taylor who was likely the next best on their list.

Their mindset was to address the safety position one way or another. If Brisker was off the board they would pick someone with versatility who could play corner or safety and Gardner Johnson would man the other spot. It appears very likely the Honey Badger may be coming home for the other safety spot.

I would have preferred they had drafted McBride, the TE from Colorado St with our #2 this year. I am sure the corner/safety we drafted will be a decent player. I just think we need a top notch TE in the worst way to keep teams honest in the middle of the field and as a matchup nightmare. McBride fit the bill. He is big, he is a competent/willing blocker and the can really catch. Colorado St's leading receiver by a wide margin 90 catches, 1,191 yards. He was their passing game this past year and he is used to making a lot of contested catches.

We currently have horrible TE's on our roster.
Trautman has not lived up to the billing, and needs to be moved.

This was the guy, and he was gone 6 picks later to a team with Z. Ertz

What billing? Dude was not picked within the top 100 of the draft and y’all acting like he is a bust lol. He was the 5th te taken that year. He was top rated blocking te in the league as a rookie. He may not be a great number 1 te, but he sure as hell can be a number 2.

I wonder if some of you know anything about the draft and football in general jeez.

So the mindset was to reach for a position of need when better players were on the board? That’s worked great for this organization in the past. There are at least ten guys I would have taken before this guy.

This is not true. The Vikings FO were literally laughing at Philly during the Covid telecast and immediately put in the pick for JJ.

Underhill says Taylor will compete with Adebo as a perimeter corner, although he can also play the slot. The fact the FO is back in negotiations with Honey Badger lends some credence to Underhill's comments on Taylor.
