What LSU fans don’t realize is:
1. Ed Orgeron is your coach.
2. You just gave him an extension.LOL
3. Dave Aranda is paid 2m for defense. They barely cracked top 25 in total defense. THEY HAVE DECLINED IN OVERALL DEFENSE EVERY YEAR SINCE HE HAS BEEN HERE.
4. You have a tight ends coach as an offensive coordinator considering that LSU has failed for a decade.
5. LSU is run by politics, nothing you do matters because FKing and JBE run that show.

Your so called facts are bullshite. Not only would 3 runs not have run the clock out but the Rams loaded the box with overload blitz to the strong side of the Saints formation. You don't run into that type of front. Brees made the right call to audible. The frickin slant was open idiot.

Please show me where I said it would RUN OUT the clock.

You do if there is zero need to gain yardage and you're just chewing clock to kick an easy FG.

In a different situation, I'd agree. It was unnecessary.

That's just plain mean lol. You're defeated by the truth so you resort to name calling on a message board to someone you'll never meet

Ohhh. You must be talking about when they got the big pass play, 1st and 10 from the 13 with 1:55 left, and only burned 14 seconds off the clock before kicking off

Do you know what timeouts are?

There is a world of difference between the position the Saints were in and the position they would have been in if the rules of football were followed.

Watch more football.

nly SP had done a good enough job to keep the Rams from getting there, right?

He literally called a perfect play to win the game and got robbed.

This.

People like to look in hindsight and say the Saints should have just ran 3 times. Then what happens if the Rams get in range after 1-2 quick plays? Or even make a TD?

There was no guarantee of how things were going to play out after the Rams got the ball. Therefore you play practical football until the end, including trying for a TD when the slant is wide open to seal the game there.

Day or two after the game, some of the folks here chastised me for saying the Saints were doing what it took to win the game when the no call happened.
I got the same bullshite about “ Saints shudda cudda wudda” early in the game.
CSP had the Saints in perfect position to score leaving the Rams with one TO and very little time on the clock.
It’s only either
1.contrarian hardheaded asses that won’t admit this or
2. They don’t know enough about football to see the obvious.

The game was stolen from the Saints PERIOD.

Give it up dude. We've talked about this scenario a million times the past 2 weeks.

We run the ball 3 times:
-rams call their timeouts, force us to a field goal, and have plenty of time to drive down the field and tie the game up with a FG

We actually try to win the game by getting the first down:
-perfect slant call that drew threw short
-3rd down play that is 100% PI (not called btw). That call is correctly called, we milk the clock to kick your earlier said FG (with less time than before!)and give them the ball back with about 20 or so seconds (giving us about a 98% chance of winning)

So you tell me.

Dude the rams kicker is good from 65 they would have easily got down and kicked fg to tie the game. You don’t get to love the saints agressive style for 10 years and then call SP stupid for doing what hes always done.

Im not even going to get into the part about how your basic logic is flawed, where you choose to conveniently ignore the no call as a factor.

You're arguing your opinion of what Payton and Brees should have done vs the other objective argument of what the NFL rules are.

Your argument is subjective. There is no such thing as "facts" of a subjective argument, unless you want to add facts like the Rams had 1 timeout left, or dropping a pass on 1st down stops the clock, etc. But for you to say, "hey, I'm stating a fact that they should have ran the ball!" - is not accurate.

That would be like me saying "chocolate ice cream is the best flavor and that's a fact!"

This is what your kind needs to realize in this two week long troll/contrarian job that you've all done. Let me guess, you're not really a Saints fan unless they win the Superbowl and then you'll run out and buy the t shirt. Am I right?

That is the most definitive article on the officiating of the game. It is a must read and should be referred to when the trolls blame the Saints for the NFC Championship game loss.

Agree. I like how it was written by someone in Boston that doesn't have any skin in the game (not affiliated or related to the Saints).

I was very clear when I said it was a horrible no call. I understand the rules perfectly well. I'm trying to make you realize that the no call was not THE factor that caused the loss. Payton didn't coach a good enough game and his very predictable offense couldn't execute.

My facts were definitely facts. I said what would've happened had they run the ball, go learn to read.

And no. I'm definitely not a saints fan and never have been. I like a couple guys there but that's it, and I wouldn't have gone and bought my 1st saints shirt had they won a super in their last legitimate chance to get there.

Even if the correct call had been made, you had no guarantee that the fg was getting made.

"Even if the correct call had been made, you had no guarantee that the fg was getting made."

Did you even read the last link?

The pass play was there and a brilliant call. Only one of two things would have kept the Saints from a first down there: a dropped pass or the most egregious no call in football history. Saints were going to win with the proper call.

Of course, given the evil intent of these so called "human beings that just made a mistake on the play", to paraphrase the almighty Baddell, I'm sure they would have come up with something in the little time the Rams had.

But carry on with your CSP hating. You are dead wrong.
