Payton’s game management cost the Saints big time in the playoffs. His ego is to enormous to make good decisions in big games. He has continued his poor management in Denver.

Agree. He wastes his timeouts way too early in games too. I don’t understand why he burns his timeouts so early in games .

The snowstorm is the only reason it stayed close.

Payton is a choke artist.

The dude just lost his backup qb in an AFCCG and was in contention. Meanwhile we’re picking in the top 8. He rebuilt the broncos and has them competing for a Super Bowl in his 3rd year and his qb is only in his 3rd year.

now comes the Payton we all know and love since his super bowl. he will want to sign guys to one year deals and offer an absurd amount of money to other players that wont pan out or already past their prime

then he will have to pay his mediocre QB

which will leave the broncos in the same positions as how he left the saints

in a few years, he will be back to where he started. quitting denver for TV in the hope that someone else will fall for his gimmicky offense

Lutz lost that game.

Seeing a low kick from him brought back so many memories.

If he lasts 5 or so more years with them I doubt he'd leave TV again. If for some reason he is gone in 2 or 3 I can see him giving it one more go.

Apparently Payton forgot about those as well.

I remember that and where I was in it happened! Didn't Reggie get the ball on a reverse and attempt to pitch it back to Drew? Shawn Peyton was diabolical 07-08.

Going for it on 4th didn’t lose him that game. Missing 2 fgs is why he lost that game. New England couldn’t move the ball at all. They threw for 80 yards. Lutz missing two ruined any chance they had.

It sucks for Sean and Denver that Nix didn't play.

I have the same amount of sympathy for Payton that he has for what the Saints have been through the last few years.

Sean flipped another crappy roster into a playoff contender one game from the Super Bowl with a QB no one expected to be a quality starter. Dude is great HC. If Bo Nix doesn't get hurt last week, then this is likely a different outcome.

Yep, life isn’t fair. That’s the way it goes. Saints fans know this after the Rams NFC Championship game.

He should have taken that chip shot FG early in the game.

He got a bad spot on the previous play. It should have been inches for a first down.

He should have challenged the spot or just have taken the field goal.

I believe Payton got emotional about how the refs were spotting the ball and just said frick it.

It was very poor judgement.

he also got lucky to beat Minny in the dome when they had 12 men in the huddle

Exactly 12 men in the huddle saved his arse. And the 5 turnovers by Minnesota.

They weren't scoring again even it had been tied in the 2nd half. So this point isn't a factor.

That's not how that works.

I feel like the Sean Payton hate is unwarranted. It doesn't feel right seeing him coach another team, but he gave the large majority of his career to the Saints, and most of all, he brought us a Super Bowl. I'll always appreciate him.
