I'm about to ruffle some feathers but I think the Saints should franchise Olave and trade him when the time comes, Olave lovers say "The Saints ain't paying nobody and have tons of space" they won't in a few years when Shough, Banks, Riley, Sanker, Tyson, Lance, Miller, Delp, Wright are needing contracts. Tyson, Lance and Delp are the future for the Saints. I don't dislike Olave but he's the size of a slot guy and is one or 2 big hits away from retiring.....prove me wrong

Ok, then noone will be bothered....even better, I believe that Lance and Tyson will be the starters in '27 going forward.

Depends on when "when the time comes" is

You have too many questions to trade Olave right now.

Will Tyson be as advertised? You knocked Olave for his injury history when Tyson has questions himself.

If negotiations get to a point where he is unreasonable...sure do that. But no real reason to just yet if at all. Wouldn't be at all a good idea to trade a weapon away during shoughs development

Olave our best offensive player… I’d argue if we didn’t have Olave, Tyson wouldn’t have been the pick…I love the pick, but it only makes sense because we got Olave on the other side

Any contract Olave signs now will be expiring by the time the contracts of all those players you listed actually hit the cap. You're dumb.

Yeah I fricking typed it, I also typed "in 27 they'll be the starters" I definitely didn't say anything about doing it now, I typed alot, I typed in the context of a couple years down the road obviously bc I talked about what happens when it's time to renew all the guys from the last 2 drafts. If these guys play to their potential we won't be able to keep all 3.....it's a message board, I decided to talk about something Saints oriented. OBVIOUSLY I'm not talking about doing something right now

Yes, that's a thoughtful answer instead of calling names behind your phone. obviously, there's tons of variables, i was just throwing something out to talk about, I think Olave is very good, but I don't see him as a true 1, but I think that Lance could end up complimenting Tyson better than Olave.

I like what we are doing as of today. Olave on a good deal for the next year. As to his future beyond that its up to Tyler and CKM. They hold the cards. How important is he to them I don't know. And the cost to resign him are known to us all. Extend him during the year or play it out to FAs. But a prediction? I think things go well for all and he's extended.

I think ML picked WRs b/c we may not be able to sign Olave.

We will try, but if it doesn't make sense i hope we dont overpay.

You would get more value giving him an extension now, then trading him in the offseason; than you would putting a franchise tag on him and hoping someone bites knowing they would also need to turn around and extend him. By doing it now, the Saints would be on the hook for the signing bonus, and Olave would lose another offseason where contract #s keep jumping. Wait until the offseason, his demand goes up, and the new team has to give up quality picks and the signing bonus

I think they addressed the position because it's been lacking for years.

The Bub means of the world weren't going to hack it.

I’d give Olave a 4 yr 130 mil deal w 80 guaranteed and sleep comfortably.

Basically a 2 yr deal w a 2 year option,,, let the young guys grow w him as the leader and when it comes time to pay Shough and others, you can make a decision on Olave
