I’d give Olave a 4 yr 130 mil deal w 80 guaranteed and sleep comfortably.
Basically a 2 yr deal w a 2 year option,,, let the young guys grow w him as the leader and when it comes time to pay Shough and others, you can make a decision on Olave

I’d feel infinitely better about any Olave deal if it had an off-ramp.

The Saints have purged most of the high end contracts and go from being one of the highest to middle of the road in 2027 with no dead cap.
I think they can spend some money on him and keep him.
If cap space is not an issue not signing him would be , well, not smart.

Don’t you know you’re not supposed to speak about a perfect game in the middle of a perfect game

He’s our only all pro talent. He’s the same age as Shough and just entering his prime. He has a great rapport with him on the field. Better than any qb that I’ve seen him with his entire career to date.
The head injuries are worrisome no doubt, but you have to roll the dice on him. Hopefully he takes something close to around 30 a year. That’s more than what Jameson Williams got with Detroit. They have had similar production and were drafted next to each other.

Yep. I would think they get something done prior to the season. Not sure if after June 1st has any impact on the contact schedule.

You can sign him to a 4 yr deal before this rookie class hits FA.
