I was wondering how many times the Saints had multiple 1st round picks and how that turned out. This is what I found:
1975:
#7 Larry Burton WR Purdue
#12 Kurt Schumacher OT Ohio State
1993:
8 Willie Roaf OT Louisiana Tech (via trade w/ Detroit. Detroit got Pat Swilling and Saints got 8 Roaf and 89 Lorenzo Neal.)
20 Irv Smith TE Notre Dame (via trade w/ San Fran)
2002:
13 Donté Stallworth WR Tennessee
25 Charles Grant DE Georgia (via Miami from the Ricky Williams trade)
2003:
6 Johnathan Sullivan DT Georgia (Saints got a 1st from Miami for the Ricky Williams trade. Saints then traded 17, 18 & 54 with Arizona for 6, 37 & 102. We got Sullivan, Jon Stinchcomb and Montae Holland. Arizona got Bryant Johnson, Calvin Pace and Anquan Boldin.)
2011:
24 Cameron Jordan DE California
28 Mark Ingram Jr. RB Alabama (via New England for a 2nd and future 1st)
2015:
13 Andrus Peat OT Stanford
31 Stephone Anthony LBer Clemson (Saints received this pick and Max Unger from Seattle for Jimmy Graham.)
2017:
11 Marshon Lattimore CB Ohio State
32 Ryan Ramczyk OT Wisconsin (Saints received 32 and 103 from New England for Brandin Cooks and 118. Saints got Ramczyk and Trey Hendrickson. New England forfeited 118 due to deflategate.)
2022:
16
19
Some really good picks and some stinkers in there too.

Stephone Anthony
Probably the most disappointing pick in my time as a fan. Thought he would be a multi pro bowler.

i was young when that happened and hated losing Swilling, but that ended up being a good trade.
also found this tidbit on Swilling from his Wikipedia.
quote:
Swilling lost all six playoff games he played in; no other player in NFL history has more losses without a win.[4]
each time he made it was a one and done.
Damn.

Erxleben goes to kick Sullivan in the nuts but actually misses. That's how big of a bust he was.

I still can’t believe Peat and Anthony were first rounders. Yikes

Sorry guys. I bought his Jersey after his first season, and he got cursed. I've since stopped buying any jerseys considering the voodoo I put on em.

I’ll take another 2011 or 2017 all day

The only one with Ireland at the wheel was a home run. And that’s what matters most.
He was here in 2015 but I doubt he had much say since he had just gotten here.
2011 was great. Crazy that since 2012 Cam Jordan is second in the nfl in sacks. Only 1.5 sacks behind chandler Jones.

They are moving up into the top 10 to take a qb, it’s pretty much a given at this point.

Ultimately the 2003 draft did in Haslet. The rest is 15 years of Saints franchise history.
