The main reasons will be Derek Carr and our atrocious offensive line.

Unfortunately, these 11 losses will include 2 losses to the Falcons. They’ve upgraded their team much better than the Saints this season. They’ll also want payback this year against the Saints after Famous Jameis and his band of clowns played them at the end of game in Week 17 last year. That was a significant display of poor sportsmanship and everyone involved is a clown.

The only silver lining is this will get Dennis Allen fired, and we’ll be able to start over fresh finally.

Right, because it's not like the Saints just extended Derek Carr.

Also whiffing on a number of linemen in which the Saints have roots as far as team building.

The question you or nobody else is asking is who Loomis would hire if this season does go up in smoke. It doesn't matter at all who you want. Loomis is the one who has that power.

But just keep thinking it all starts with the coach. Nope.

Starts before that.

It definitely starts with the coach. Dennis Allen is largely responsible for all the current turmoil. Terrible drafting and terrible coaching will not set a very good foundation for your team. The head coach is responsible for that.

Who hired him?

That would be Loomis.

and who knows how much Loomis and the executives do behind the scenes. It is something that not many bring up because no one really knows.

If Dennis Allen gets fired this season or after, who do you think Loomis will hire and why? Is that coach comfortable taking over a team in undesirable cap situation? Is that coach okay with Derek Carr at QB? Will Loomis hire an offensive minded coach or a defensive minded coach?

That revenge stuff only goes so far in NFL though but I think we take one of those; look for another 8/9 W season just for Ms Gail to keep status quo

Anywhere from 5-9 wins seems fair to me. Things could go really right and they get to 9, or really wrong. All things being even, they are a 7ish win team

With this OL, I wouldn’t be surprised. Couple that with a new system that Carr may not be comfortable in, it could get ugly on offense. Hopefully Olave and Shaheed stay healthy but our receiver depth is poor. Kamara is getting older but hopefully we actually utilize him this season. Defense should be solid but many of our best players are older guys so health is paramount. Just an interesting season ahead of us. Ceiling is limited with DA as coach and Carr as QB though.

The main reason is b/c our coach has rarely finished above this percentage.

Rarely? In 4 full seasons, 2 were better than that. DA has lost control of the hyperbole on this site.

They won’t go undefeated but they will probably win more games than the Saints will.

Mickey only retained Dennis to be the fall guy this year.

Year one: Jameis’ fault
Year two: injuries/bad luck
Year three : ignore the horrific roster construction, we can fix this with firing the horrible HC.

I'm usually pretty optimistic but can't argue. I feel our D will be a step up from last year. Elite corners, sold safeties, LB will be fine, and I feel our Dline will be solid.

Every position on O has regressed. RBs have simply due to age. We don't have a true #1 WR, TEs are meh. And our Oline is just not good at all. Only optimism is once season starts maybe our O play calling will be improved and we have 2 young backup QBs to hope for in the future. Hopefully our place K improves from his rookie year, that would be big if he does.

4-13 is possible but it's the floor.

Ceiling IMO is 8-9.

Mostly like between 5 and 7 wins. I tend to think closer to 5.

For anyone optimistic, consider this.

The Saints have the worst coach in the NFL.

The worst OL in the NFL.

Very mediocre WRs and RBs.

A below average QB that has zero leadership skills.

This is the worst offense in the NFL bar none.

The defense is OK but old.

Lame duck HC.

Gonna be a rough season.

6-11 feels like bet case scenario with the way this team has looked in camp.

If we somehow lose to Carolina, we will likely start 0-5.

The good news is Allen will get fired by midseason and this can all finally end.
