For a fist season in the NFL 475 yards isnt bad. I dont see how you could complain on this one.

We don’t have a QB and he’ll probably be 30 by the time we make the playoffs again?

If he was so good why would a team like the broncos who are preparing to make a deep playoff run trade him one year after picking him? The answer is we overpaid

Saints are getting a 4th rd comp pick next draft anyway.

Why do y'all always do this?

We need all the picks we can get.

Draft Picks are critical !!!

Posters on here will be crying when Saints are 3-14, 4-13 and need draft picks to rebuild team ….

But Saints will be a few short cause Mickey is trading them away.

Yep…

We can ALL agree Mickey is a great GM who has WISELY utilized our draft picks over the years …

— Trading several picks for Penning.
—-Foskey (2nd)
—-Ruiz (1st)
—-Payton Turner (1st)
—-Davenport (Two 1st rd picks)
—-Shough (2nd)
—-How often does Loomis trade up in the draft ( burning draft picks) to select all his Winning Draft Selections ??
— He does it nearly every single draft !!

The evidence is overwhelming !!

But that’s ok… Gayle has confidence in…

Mickey

Just a weird move.

It’s weird in a reasonable mind. The FO still thinks they are a move away from a Super Bowl. Trading draft capital for a non QB is a win now move.

That’s ok… the player will be 30 and Loomis will extend his contract then…. Back-Load the Deal ; contributing to the Salary Cap Disaster he created.

There is No End to Loomis !!

Olave will be in Minneapolis or jets soon.

I could see the Jets.

He'd be buddied back up with Garrett Wilson.

Give the Saints a 3rd round pick which should be a high end one and send him on

Updated 53-man roster prediction after Broncos' 2nd preseason game
quote:

Wide receiver (6)
WR Courtland Sutton
WR Marvin Mims
WR Troy Franklin
WR Devaughn Vele
WR Pat Bryant
WR Trent Sherfield

quote:

The Broncos might risk losing Courtney Jackson on the waiver wire if they attempt to get him down to the practice squad, but it's hard to imagine either Devaughn Vele or Trent Sherfield getting cut. In addition to Jackson, other practice squad candidates will include Michael Bandy, Joaquin Davis and (if healthy) A.T. Perry.

quote:

Vele has been limited in camp as he has been recovering from an offseason knee procedure and during that time Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant have really stepped up.

5th WR = 4th round pick & 7th round pick - That's Loomis-ing!

On the bright side, it's done. Would you have rather Loomis spent those picks to trade up to a take a prototype size WR prospect next year that the Saints can't/won't develop instead?

To be fair, a guy came off the waiver wire in late October and was our 2nd leading WR last season. Also seems like he's back to being bad MVS in Seattle.

Interesting analysis from you tube on him.
I think he can help us in the red zone. We are desperate for a big body receiver. Not worried about his age he has only been in the league for one season.

So even the Saints can find a decent WR off the waiver wire (and during the season)? That's not exactly a counter to my point.

The NFL cut down day is August 26th. The Saints were less than a week away from a lot of WRs coming on the waiver wire (or at least getting cheaper as teams try to get anything for their potential cut candidates).

I'm not countering. I'm saying a 5th wr for another team probably ain't a 5th wr for us.

You keep yelling like there are posters on here claiming Mickey is a great GM. Who's doing that? I don't think I'm simping for Loomis if I like an individual move or pick, like drafting Kelvin Banks or signing Julian Blackmon. Who are you arguing with? Do you think Gayle is reading your posts?

I mean yeah. He’d be 5 years younger likely. That’s an entire rookie contract plus.

And that's why I had the laugh to crying gif. So would I; so would I.

But at least we'll have some comparisons for the trade:

quote:

- 4th round pick (2026) and 7th round picks (2027) for Devaugn Vele

- Harrison Bryant and 5th round pick (2026) for John Metchie and 6th round pick (2026).

- 6th round pick (2027) for Skyy Moore and 7th round pick (2027)

We'll see how it goes.
