We will trade our two first round picks to get Fournett

This is such a loss. Adding our 4th pick in there was just rubbing salt in the wound.....come on Bill I thought you and Sean were friends

Maybe we can still make a move for him. But I doubt it. If we did, I'd feel a lot better about this.
Couldn't we technically give up a 2018 first after the draft for him?

One thing that Payton has been consistent in is that if you publicly talk shite, or cause problems in the locker room. You are gone. He was gone the moment he talked negatively about the team.

I can guarantee it won't be last bad move of the season.

Technically we could and I'd be down for that.
But I'm willing to bet the Pats sign him long term.

I dont have a problem with the trade. Cooks was overrated IMHO. His ceiling is what you saw here. Not a terrible player but not a true #1 caliber player either.
He also sucks at wr screens so it will be interesting to see how well he does there.

I mean if we sign him to an offer sheet and the Pats don't match it we would have to.
But I wouldn't give a first for Butler, especially after this rape.

the players seem super pissed about this on twitter.
also, where is timmy zimme after he ran his mouth saying Cooks wasn't getting traded?

So we take the 32nd and not the titans 18th?
If there was an offer for #18, that is pure and utter incompetence.
There is no way a team could trade up from 32 to 18 with the price of a #3, not to mention throwing a 4 in.
How much did the Saints give to NE to trade up a few spots to draft Ingram? A number 1.

Florio says exactly what I was earlier:

Of course going deep in the playoffs instead of 7-9 makes up for that, but we'll see.

For 2017, barring any players being cut or traded, the Patriots will have Cooks, Mitchell, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan, and Dwayne Allen. So, yeah, if Cooks thought he wasn’t getting the ball often enough in 2016 (when he caught 78 passes for 1,173 yards), we’ll see how he does when his do-your-job job consists in many cases of running deep and drawing the coverage away from Gronkowski, Edelman, etc.

Again, this isn't about losing Cooks. It's about not getting the most out of a very valuable asset. Not getting a defensive starter and/or higher 1st out of this was a pretty big failure.

we get two picks that we may blow
We only got one pick. We simply moved up from the 4th to the 3rd.
We only gained one pick.
We could have easily taken the Titan's 18th and been done with it. Instead we are saying that moving from the 4th to the 3rd is worth 17 spots in the first.
What a colossal frick up by this front office.

But you can yell at coach to his face and curse him out on live TV and still be the number 1 running back?

If anything we'll finally get a glimpse at who makes WRs better, Brady or Brees.

That only works for franchised players. The deadline for RFA's makes that impossible.

Doubt they have him and Gilmore with big $$ contracts

When's the deadline? I thought it was closer to May or something.

This place will lose its collective mind if we trade the 11th pick for Butler

Posted on 3/10/17 at 7:25 pm to bonethug0108
What a dumb arse move, they would have been better trading straight up for Butler
