G Forrest Lamp at #32 is another possibility if he's still there. Depth this year and starts at LG next year if Strief retires. Slide Peat over to RT.

OG Forrest Lamp

Jason La Canfora? @JasonLaCanfora
Butler would have to sign RFA tender before any trade could be made. Given how much Pats gave Gilmore have to wonder if it still possible

He removed the other one, but he posted this too

So the difference between the Pats 32nd and the Titans 18th is that we converted our mid round 4th to a late 3rd.

So instead of moving up 14 spots on the 1st, we move up 13 in the 4th.

A lot more than just the 32nd

So we gave up Cooks and a 4th for their 32nd and their 3rd.

The 4th and 3rd swap basically just means (according to the draft value chart) the Saints got #30 overall pick value for Cooks.

I don't like this. Cooks was one of the few proven commodities we have acquired in the draft. Instead of getting a pick and a starter, we get two picks that we may blow. We should have kept Cooks. I know he shot off his mouth a couple of times last year but he was not that much of a malcontent.

Maybe we can still make a move for him. But I doubt it. If we did, I'd feel a lot better about this.

Also Butler hasn't signed his tender so he can't be traded until he does

Once the dispute went public we lost a lot of leverage. That falls on all three WRs involved.

Teammates have disputes all of the time. We controlled Cooks on the cheap for 2 more seasons and could have franchised him. On a per year average, that 3 year contract would have been slightly more than Kenny Stills and Pierre Garcon's deals.

The Saints traded Stills because of locker room issues. They drafted PJ Williams and got Ellerbe. I know injuries aren't the Saints' fault, but they lost that trade.

They traded Graham because of locker room issues. They got Unger, who has been really good, and drafted Anthony, who is looking like a bust. Graham was didn't really fit in the Seahawks offense at first, and then was injured, but then started to look like the 2nd best TE in the NFL again. Right now it's a wash, but if Graham continues to play at an elite level and Unger (who plays at a lesser position) is more of a top 5 or 6 guy at C, then the Saints lose that trade as well.

Hopefully the new coaching staff can help our players to not act like a bunch of highschool girls.

Trade is fine, head scratcher that we could have had the 18th pick but there must be more to that story. Solid value for Cooks.

Safe to assume 18 wasn't on the table, IMO
